Wait until senior year evals reflect the rankings before you cry like a baby
If Dahvon Keys moving up from 449 to 400 on On3 to be a 4 star makes you feel good, then so be it

Watch the tape.. then comment. If you haven’t watched the tape on the 3 stars the hush. If you have then still hush. Because if you still came to that conclusion after watching their film then you don’t know football and what translates to success in college.

I can't understand why folks feel the need to shite on kids who commit to us because something doesn't match what they think they understand about recruiting. I will always say I want kids who want to be here. With the portal kids leave schools they were committed to all the time. We missed on 5 star Denver Harris until he transferred in the portal. When kids commit, these threads shouldn't be infiltrated with arm chair recruiting gurus negativity. It should be a celebration. Looking at this kids offer list I'd say we got someone good.

I’m not negative especially about the said recruit, Ory. He is a fine kid and has the size, but he doesn’t have the experience or the coaching to put him in the upper echelons of the upper 4 and 5 stars I’ve seen present and past. He does have a lot of potential to surpass a lot that I’ve seen. I made a straight up obvious point with our average recruiting numbers. No matter what Peter puffers tell you these numbers don’t keep up with the joneses ie; Bama, Georgia, Clemson or others. It is a valid point. We have twenty recruits and we can take 10 more? Do the math mouth breather.

So what, In your opinion, translates to success in college?

Disagreeing with your point doesn't make anyone a mouth breather. It shines a light on you though.

Ory Williams is a top candidate to rocket up the rankings.
Ignore his star ranking for a moment, let’s look at his offer and visit list. He’s offered by LSU, Texas, Texas AM, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Oregon, Florida State, and Tennessee, among others.
He officially visited, per On3, Florida, UGA, Texas, and Texas AM, along with LSU. This is what’s key. Schools don’t throw away the resources of an official visit on players they aren’t really interested in.
He’s legit

I hope there is a lot of potential in the now Eight 3*’s. Well one Belloit has 4 on one site and one head case 4* that is about de-commit. I expect down votes because most of y’all can’t see over the purple and gold glasses or read to the end. I truly hope the 40% of this 2024 class, so far, has a huge upside.
Sure coaches know more than you and I, but numbers don’t lie.

Lloyd Cushenberry.
Damien Lewis.
Both 3 star players. Too bad neither of them amounted to much. Think of what the 2019 LSU offense could have been if they were 4 star. Maybe both have a shot one day in the NFL. Get some time in the XFL and catch a scouts eye and maybe they'll have a chance to stick in the NFL.

I see why the coaches are high on him. He's got a great frame, feet, and moves really well for an OT.
That said he is raw and will need to get stronger. Future NFL potential down the road.
High 3 star seems about right, but I could see him moving up to a low 4 star with a really good senior season.

Let me say this about the kid. He plays for a school that has not had a winning season is a long time. If he played for a state title contender with the resources and training programs to develop a kid like this, he is easily a 4 or 5 star.
I believe this kid sees significant playing time as a sophomore at LSU

I always laff at these "experts ( ranters who have watched football for decades ) who proclaim that they know better than football professionals who evaluate & recruit for a living. I could give probably 100's of examples of your horrible 3 stars who developed into SEC level starters. But this one kinda sticks out : Corey Webster was a 2 star. Do you need his college / pro resume'? As an aside, UGA offered him. You know better than UGA's recruiting staff I guess? Wanna check their recruiting success the past 4-5 years?

First i’d like to welcome Ory to Tiger Nation. I hope that your time at LSU is both healthy and successful. I hope your personal goals are achieved, as well as team goals.
Comment on stars and rankings.
I would rather our coaches select based on potential. I also value the other staff evaluations more than recruiting services. Although recruiting services also use the staffs opinions to form their own star system. As previously noted, a kid with less accessibility to top facilities and better coaching will “bloom” in a top college environment.
I’m happy with our coaches and happy that Ory feels the same way.

There are few sure things in recruiting, anyone remember Kardell Thomas ? Stars do matter, but so does development after you get them. Recent three stars - Justin Jefferson, Clyde Edwards Helaire, Cushenberry, Foster Moreau, etc.
