How good is the other team in this video? He sure made it look easy.

That was against Destrehan, a historically pretty good team that has produced a bunch of D-I & NFL talent. They're currently ranked #10 in the state non-select rankings, so pretty good competition that Lindsey was facing.

Yep Maxpreps has them #22 overall in the state of LA. Destrehan only gave up 23 to Catholic (almost beat them) one of the best teams in the state. They shut out Bonnabel 31-0.
Alexandria put up 45 on them.
Destrehan has Jhase Thomas, Phillip Wright on their team (LSU commits); as well as 2025 LA Tech commit and 2026 Jabari Mack a Top 100 overall player in 2026 class.

Thanks for the replies. The Berry/Lindsey combo gives us flexibility of different type talent to put on the field. We are putting together a hellofa backfield. And a good Oline. Hard to not feel optimistic about the future.

Destrehan is loaded with D-1 guys on offense. Their best defensive player, Jhase Thomas, was forced to play QB in this game. He is not on the field for any of these snaps it looks like

Hard to believe there are more than one or two other backs of that quality in the state. Lester had him rated 6th, I believe. I haven’t seen much of any of them, so I’m not going to disagree, but that back looks impressive. He’s got good size, speed, and balance. It’s hard to rate him on vision, because those holes couldn’t be missed.

Penny, you could see Lindsey jump up to 3 in my midseason rankings. I can see improvement as a runner through his first few games as a SR. The way he wins is impressive and always has been due to his pure athleticism.
Though he still has a few flaws to work on. I would still love if he were playing CB but what can you do.

Jackson is a great example of a running back who has all the athleticism in the world, but is not nearly as effective as he could be because of vision. Vision doesn't really show up in high school so much. Often the holes are gigantic. So we'll see if this guy has that.
The Saints drafted a kid back in the 80s I believe. He was a running back from Illinois, or Indiana, and he was a first round pick. I can't remember his name, but he was a tremendous athlete, and always ran directly into the back of a lineman. He ended up washing out.

It’s easy & effective for the best athlete to just run to open space and have no one catch him at the high school level
