I had a couple of surprises when I looked at the current rankings. I did not realize how great Napier is doing in recruiting this year. I always heard her was a great recruiter at Bama but last year he seemed to really struggle in his first season. He focused a lot on Louisiana kids.

The other surprise for me is that LSU is only at #9. McKinley would give us one 5-star. I’m not sure where we stand with the Waco cornerback Black who is a 5-star. It will be very interesting to see how well Kelly and staff evaluate the talent compared to their ratings. I have a lot a confidence in our staff to identify what we need.

Napier is doing fine and it was wishcasting by sec teams tk think he won’t do well, there.

But Kelly is LSUs coach and doing Better than Good.

All is well.

Black seems to be a long shot. I believe we have better shot at landing Baites and Mack at CB.

I feel Bussey is a long shot also and they will stay in Texas.

I was wondering what position Bussey would play. I’ll be glad when we can start getting those high level CB prospects again. This year seems to be a big focus on CB. I like that Kelly wants to focus on hs prospects. Hopefully Harris lives up to his rating. And Welch looked good in the spring game.

From what I saw online some schools have told Bussey they wanted him at WR and some Secondary. I can't remember what LSU podcast it was but they said SAFETY at LSU is what they was recruiting him at.

Yeah believe Coack Kelly wanted to focus on HS for CBs. I know Welch people from North Louisiana and meet him a few times hoping he breaks out. Hell hope everyone has breakout.

I have to wonder what Bussey wants to play in college. WR seems to be a position a lot of skill guys want to play. Safety is not as glamorous but you pretty much stay on the field all the time and get a lot of action. At WR, you get 5-7 targets on average per game. I think WRs do tend to get drafted higher than safeties unless you are very elite.

To many three stars. If only take our 25 then filling other positions of need come through the portal. Yikes. Even the Irish ahead of us.

Rivals must put more weight on # of prospects since Alabama only has 8 commitments so far

Based on their offers, some will be bumped up after the next evaluation.

The state of Florida puts out a ton of talent. That’s why so many Florida schools do so well. Billy had a ton of talent returning. Florida’s last coach had the same record, as the previous coach, 6-7. Billy’s loss to Vandy, blowout in their Bowl game, an Mass Exodus of players after the season. Doesn't bode well.
Still a way to go before signing day. As always, let’s see how they finish.

It’s been known, Kelly knows more about Talent Evaluation and Player Development, not even close.

Yeah. For a few years, UCF was probably the best team in Florida. All three big schools were having subpar recruiting seasons.

Florida had been one of our big recruiting areas in the past. It seems like we are more focused on in-state, TX and GA prospects. I trust that Kelly will hit on some underrated guys and that current guys will get a bump. It will probably be a solid class of 4-star prospects.

QB Richardson, see below on Richardson, they had the OC who returns for another year. You had 6 on offense and 7 starters on defense. You returned the punter.
The wins with aTm and USCE were good wins. You had a dozen of your top 20 tacklers return. But like my above post said. The wheels kind of fell off after the USCE win, 3 straight losses.

“ The Indianapolis Colts selected quarterback Anthony Richardson with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.”

Looks like LSU is at #13 with 18 commits. Why are we so low?

That’s recruiting, I wouldn’t worry. Our 3* TE last season, did more than the 5*,
