He got an accurate pre draft assessment, he was gambling on himself. Sometimes it doesn’t work out.

I’m misunderstanding something here.

Pickens made the grades. Is he out now because of grades? What’s going on?

With the spring, intercession, and summer he has all the time needed to be eligible next season.

Yes. The coaches really like Koy Moore who isn’t that highly ranked.

I know he is a five star receiver and all that but with him being sneaky like that he should be the first one to get processed. specially when you’re turning down Louisiana talent that has been dreaming about playing for LSU their whole life

I'd drop him on the spot

Say it again- the ones who run a circus during recruiting are almost never worth it

Can think of very few examples where this type of character makes a difference on the field .

Not that you were addressing me, but I was thinking about this subject recently after I had posted in another thread about "recruiting drama" not translating to "bad character", or lack of drama to good character.

One example is Guice. Maybe not the best example, but anyways... He 'opened up his recruitment' and took visits late in the recruiting season. Obviously ended up at LSU, had a great career, and while he can lack a filter is an all around great person.

Chase two years ago was all over the place with flirting, seemed to be heavy lean UF for a while, to the outside observer looked like it was almost down to the wire (behind the scenes it wasn't), and said repeatedly he wanted to go out of state. The out of state thing was a publicly polite way of saying he wasn't going to play for Les; but at the time we didn't know that. So the 'drama', for lack of a better term, was just him making up his mind without dogging LSU and spilling any beans. He did us a favor and we didn't even know it (at the time).

good post, my comments are really based on kids who are dishonest or purposely make some giant circus through the process. The thing about football is you need to count on the guy next to you to not only play for himself. People like to ignore it, but character truly matters.

Changing commits (while being honest) is not at all what I mean by character flaws. "IF" this burton guy switches, he did so while knowing LSU processed players to make sure they had room for him and the class...on the last weekend. That is bush league right there.

while I don't disagree with this my point would be that through the lens(es) of A) time and B) more, accurate info what we think of as drama, antics, or attention seeking may actually not be as bad as we thought.

If we had never found out that Chase had spurned LSU because he didn't want to be a DB and he had ended up at UF it would have looked, from outward appearances, that he strung LSU along. The lens of both time and info means that we had the overall picture of that 'drama' wrong and the translation to Chase's character would have been void.

It's the Schrodinger's cat of recruiting. Once you start observing their behavior, and see 'drama' in that observation the character of the recruit is now decided (by some recruiting followers).

My point would be- yes, character definitely matters... BUT, you can't determine character from observing anything regarding 'recruiting behavior'.

Agree in general but You can judge character when outright lies are being spoken.

Obviously no idea if that's the case here

Your take is strange and I doubt more than 5 people on here agree with your strange mentally unstable take.
