It’s a little different when the guy you are going against used to be your coach and has all the Louisiana connections that went with that, and also has a collection of trophies and rings.

Not an easy task to keep Saban from stealing our top Louisiana talent that we not only want, but need, so we have to do a better job of it. But when 20% of the starting lineup on a team that is clearly head and shoulders above the rest are from our state, that shows not only the talent in our state but the need to do a better job recruiting that elite talent to stay home!
As has already been pointed out, Saban is not currently raiding Louisiana at the pace that he was at the end of Miles’ tenure and O’s first season. I’m not O’s biggest fan, but he has put LSU back on the right side of the majority of these in-state battles. He said he would do that when he was hired and he’s done a good job there.
That said, Saban flipped two OOS kids on us this year. That’s going to be an uphill battle as long as he’s breathing.

So, they knew about the leigh signing. You still couldn't get rid of him since you need him to close on the other o line recruits.
He might get another year. When are the contracts renewed?

Harris had knee issues, so we didnt recruit him from what I had read.

As far as the why it isn't happening- I'm not sure. I know one thing I'd like to see (and for recruits to see) is a small army of analysts dedicated to the trenches.
We had to deal with giving the nation tons if ammunition for negative recruiting this cycle. People saw the biggest defection of players of any school after winning a national championship. Along with a head coach that filed for a divorce. As a parent I’m sure some questioned O’s home not being in order. Looking back the team and O’s private matters were a reflection of one another (none of my business, but it’s out there). Teams like UGA, Clemson, and Bama will capitalize on things like this. It’s up to O to prove them wrong with a unified front next season.

Well he did a really good job in recruiting for Lsu in years past and did a good job in producing in 2019, results were really good. In 2020 for results and recruiting dont know what happen there.

Ok keep being scared and below average then with all yall fricking excuses in here. Jesus what a beta fanbase.
Not making excuses, we should always strive to be the best, but to say the accomplishments of LSU are below average is asinine.
Entering this season, LSU had the 3rd highest winning percentage of all power 5 schools since 2000 and is second only to Alabama in championships.
If that's below average, I'll take it.

Wow. Jello-sharp take.
That is generally called "the NFL Draft". As there has never been a NC team that faced the Covid/Opt Out/Extra Eligibility situation---oneplayer taking advantage of these unique circumstances sets the record. Do you really think J. Chase opting out is O's or the school's fault? Huh?
You are right about one thing, though. O's private matters are none of your fargin' business! That his situation reflected on the team is a negative narrative along the same lines as "the locker room was lost". Bullshite! Look how many guys have re-upped! There's your fargin' unified front!

Guys ! Development happens on a two lane highway.....Coaching em up and selecting individuals that’ have potential when we can’t get the best player and the desire of the recruit to want to get better .

What the hell are you trying to argue about here? I never blamed O for anything goofball. The team lost 16 players early in the draft and another 16 or so, due to transfers, opt outs, and graduation. 30 plus players gone is unprecedented for any team after winning the NC. THIS IS WHY THE SEASON WENT DOWN THE DRAIN...What other reason would it have been? Also, recruits/parents learned about O’s personal life, just as we did. Don’t think for a second, that the kids preaching about a “family atmosphere” aren’t listening to other recruiters to use that as a negative. Seriously, you repeated what I said in restructured sentences and believed you argued a new point. Who does that lol?
Since your reading comprehension can’t be trusted, I pointed out what happed as a result of several players personal reasoning for opting out before and during season. I’m also pointing out that what happened at LSU, gave other programs ammunition for negative recruiting tactics. All of which were most likely used against LSU with the big name recruits the staff missed on. Never once did I blame Coach Orgeron.

really? I had no idea Cregg was the recruiter for those two LA guys? I thought he was responsible for identifying, evaluating, and recruiting Olinemen to come to LSU....and he has failed miserably in every regard. Send him down the road or keep playing for 3rd place in the SECW.

And of those 4 schools listed, LSU is the ONLY one that has not had a losing record at end of season since 2000.
