So this guy now wants to play for the ever patient and calm and collected Brian Kelly ? This will work out well.

Mason Tiger, you ever hear the old saying if mommy's not happy nobody is.

So why was mommy happy around Christmas, when he committed to LSU, and now not happy? What changed mommy in those 2 weeks that she didn't already know in the 2 years of recruiting that had already taken place?

Yeah that may be true. My point was that recruits are not robots. They are young and impressionable. They can read and feel the negativity. I'm not saying this factors in every kids decision or is a big part of everyone's recruitment or anything, but it is a factor.

Reading Guilbeaus article, it is hard to blame Kiel. Dude wants to be a Tiger, but can't break his momma's heart in the process. Hes 18, and though technically old enough to make his own decisions.....most of us wouldn't dosomething we wanted if our mother made it clear it would devastate her. Mom, on the other hand, should be lynched for squelching her kids dreams for her own selfish purpose. Time to ween the teet, mom, time to ween the teet.

Obviously Landon is not as close to mama as Kiel is to his mama.

Great Kracka that makes a mom all warm and fuzzy knowing all fan basses are nuts.Well if son is closer to home it will be easier for momma bear to help out her cub.

Are you so certain she was...happy around Christmas I mean?

Wonder how happy she'll be if Gunner has trouble and Brian Kelly is about to pop a vein in his arse screaming at the boy? Might get interesting.

Rumors started swirling yesterday that Kiel was enrolling at ND.
Others state the same rumor, most take it as fact.
No word from the Keils or coaches for ether team.
Now we wait.

Kiel committed before the NCG AFTER the QB controversy had been brewing.

And Kiel decommitted after the BCS title game. Doesn't it seem that his defection had something to do with watching Jefferson floudering on the field while there were other capable QB's sitting on the bench. Not just Lee, but also Mett and Rivers.

So you think a recruit could be influenced by negativity on message boards but not by the nationwide perception that a coach played favorites and horribly mismanaged his QBs?

because kiel obviously has a positive relationship with his mom and landon obviously doesn't.

At the end of the day, how can anyone get upset when a kid is told he has to grey shirt or a program doesn't have room.

just look at this situation. the kid bails on the last day. how are coaches suppose to know who is committed and who isn't? you have to prepare for these things and sometimes it bites you in the butt.

the n.c.a.a. needs a early signing period. they can sign the kids that want to come early. Then focus their resources and time on the remaining holes to fill until the end.

would it have changed gunners situation, probably not. however, indiana would not have been screwed. lsu probably has miller.

Festus how do we know mom was happy?Maybe she figured she could talk him out of it before his departure.Maybe she thought she could handle his leaving but at last minute found out that she couldn't.If you have kids you can understand this.I for one couldn't wait for my two kids to leave the nest my youngest girl has blown the coup and I wish she would come back home.

You know some kids would like that he stuck with his starter rather than swaping all the time.. just a view from the other side.. not all players like it when coaches pull QB when struggling some like when coaches let u work threw your stuggles... just saying could go either way..
