yes mett will be with us for 3 or 4 more years
I'm just saying we don't need Kiel right now. I've only heard good things about Jarrard Randle, and there will be other QBs. Without Kiel, our QB situation will still be much better next year than this year.

I agree.......Miles screwed us......Why would a pro style QB want to come to LSU.........

I couldn't care less about him choosing ND over us if that's where he and his family feels what's best for him, but it pisses me off that we may have lost a very talented OL in the process because their family can't show a little class.

yes 5 star qb's are just a "luxury" I'm tired of f'ing 2012 concerning football. I WANT SOME GOD DAMN GOOD NEWS.
No matter who you supported...JL, JJ, or CLM and whichever QB he put in...no matter who you wanted CLM to put in...2011 is OVER. It's a new season from here on out. And damnit it's Mettenburger's team now...there's soome DAMN GOOD NEWS.

I dunno bout you but I'm not excited whatsoever about another athletic qb.

Probably the same reason Mettenberger and Rivers are here, and the same reason Kiel committed in the first place. We would have had 3 QBs on the roster this Spring. Care to guess how many would have been "pro style"?

Umm, yeah, about Randle...he's currently being "Sheparded" if that makes sense.

Is this shite going to be over tomorrow? We should know for sure by tomorrow, yes?

Randle has much more potential than JJ.

Because JJ and JL aren't playing anymore. That's how.

That's part of recruiting

Where have you heard this? I have only heard that he did well in practice (as a QB) all year.

Supposedly our staff just talked to him yesterday and he gave no indication he wouldn't be here today
This is the only important fact as it pertains to the future of the LSU program.
Coach Miles is quickly becoming Coach Dangerfield. The guy just can't catch a break. 13-0, SEC champs, beat Saban in Tuscaloosa, no less, and he still has to deal with no respect.
Kiel is a non-issue. He decided that himself. 4 out of 5 kids as highly rated as himself that handle their business like he handled his, never achieve anywhere near their expectation level. Most end up not only non-productive, but counter-productive to their program, not even finishing at their respective school of choice. When that school is ND at the QB position, it's more like 6 out of 5!

I know we've heard all kinds of info on the Patrick Miller situation, but if this Kiel thing truly played any part in LSU's decision and/or Miller's eventual school of choice, that is the issue of concern.
For a standup guy like Miles, that has shown nothing but loyalty and commitment to the program, I find it ironic that he seems to attract these situations, involving kids that lack these characteristics. Perrilloux, McKnight, Janzen Jackson, Landon Collins, now Gunner Kiel. All have had their particular reasons of self-absorbed decision/indecision, whether it be marketing themselves or truly having personal issues.
But, the fact remains, maybe one of those kids reach anywhere near their level of expectation. It's not coincidence. And it's not just LSU. Look around. You don't have to go any longer than the last 5 years to find the Browns, the Pryors, the Newtons, the Dyers, the Seastrunks, et al. Yeah, Newton wins the lottery, but not for Florida.
Things are never as good as they seem, or as bad as they look right now. Point is, Coach Miles needs to be more concerned with commanding respect in his dealings with recruits and their families, and worry less about the ones unable to give it to him or the program, at the expense of their 15 minutes of fame.

So latest word is that family, especially mom, wanted Gunner closer to home?
