With A defense that had John Henderson, Albert Haynesworth, Aubrayo Franklin, Demetrin Veal, Rashad Moore, Will Overstreet, Kevin Burnett, Eddie Moore, Keyon Whiteside,Jabari Greer, Andre Lott, Rashad Baker and Julian Battle...WE COULDN"T STOP THE quarterback draw...Check the NFL and see how many of these guys are STILL or were in the NFL.."THe Chief" The Most Over rated Defensive Coordinator in College football..Did you watch UT and UCLA..He made Kevin Craft look like the second coming of Joe Montana...Norm Chow ATE Chavis lunch..because he is SO STUBBORN he will not change..he will not adapt..I'll check back with you when you have played some teams that like to "AIR IT OUT"..See if you still think The Chief is still so worthy...He'll make a preacher cuss...

You think that defense sucked LAST year..Wait until Meyer or Saban hang about 40 on you...Go back and eat some alligator tail..you freaking swamp rat...

Let's hope Chief's best years are ahead of him and not behind him.

Else, he too could find himself in Natchitoches or the Enchanted State sooner than you can say Malleveto.

Stupid kid. Don't wish him any ill will but if prayer and all that are so important to this kid and his family, how in the world could he choose coaches like Kiffin and Orgeron who have absolutely no scruples or the respect of anyone. Really bad move on his part.

Yeah its pretty amazing how a kid can get outside advise and take extra time to make the decision and still make the worst choice possible. He would have done better putting all the teams in the hat that recruited him and blindly pulling one.

He saw something he liked in Tennessee, nothing wrong with that. At least he didn't come here, or go to a team that might have a chance to beat us in the next five years.

stevierayvol,

You are an idiot, there is no way to say it better, in that game you talked aobut, and once again, please PLEASE do some research before posting, it would save you from looking like an idiot, the Kevin Craft guy who supposedly looked like JOe Montana..... Threw 4 interceptions. 4. Yeah i was thinking either joe montana or dan marino. He was 25/43 for 259 yards, that's not even a good game. And the reason ya'll lost wasn't because of the defense, it was because your offense couldn't do anything with those turnovers. In fact, 1 of your touchdown's came via one of those joe montana interceptions returned for a touchdown. You're an idiot, go back to your own website.

Oh becuase that would actually be less than what florida put up on us last year. and god forbid a good team have a long drive on you. God forbid. That has never happened to a "good team" ever. Please go back to your stupid 15 year old friends on your tennessee board.

The reason Urban went 99 is because you don't have the talent for 4 qtrs...and Urbans' offense is good by the way..

quit being stupid...Most objective UT fans realize that Chavis was one of the few bright spots in the program the last several years..

Butch Freakin Davis said this is an awesome hire (chavis to LSU)...straight from his mouth...

I value his opinion 10000000000 times over a clueLESS UT homer fan who is giddy over any change at UT

They averaged 43 points/game on offense last year.

That's pretty good

Chavis was the best thing UT had going for them last year. If Monte would not have come to UT, Chavis would have been my first choice to stay on as DC. You guys got a hell of a coach in Chavis. Don't get me wrong I love Kiffin and I think he has done a great job so far, but if our offense would have been half as good as our defense last year we would not even be talking about this b/c Chavis would still be in Tenn. with Fulmer.

wow, you really proved me wrong. Look at ALL OF LAST YEAR, lets compare for just a second. The year we won it all, we allowed 279 points, that's almost 20 points a game, that was with arguably the best defense in the nation, last year, ya'll allowed 201 points, that's 16.75 points a game. with your "horrible defensive coordinator" i just looked at the box score to every game ya'll played last season, the only game where the defense let you down was the UCLA game, that was also the FIRST GAME of the year, as you pointed out. If our defense only played that bad one game this year i would be ecstatic. You once again are just making yourself look stupid. Go back to your tennessee board please

You guys will find out that it's hard being a Chavis fan year-end, year-out. Like both parties have said, he has some great years like last year, and some bad years as well.

I'm not an x's and o's guy so I couldn't ever put my finger on it. It's baffling and frustrating.

He never beat CUM or anybody who runs the spread for that matter. It sucks that you play them every year. However, he appears to be getting a lot closer to defending against it. Should've never taken 5 years but at least you get him post learning curve.

I believe it's a good hire and that with your D line and talent he will be very good. Alot of his players at UT were offensive guys that were moved to defense so young defenses always looked like crap. Slade (our db coach) was our problem on d in the past, not chavis.

Slade answered to Chavis, Chavis to Fulmer..that is the way CHAVIS wanted the db's to play...KEEP everything in front of them...You never say a db running stride for stride looking back for the ball..And tell me this..When was the last time you ever heard a Head Coach say at halftime.."COACH CHAVIS IS SHOWING US SOME LOOKS WE HAVEN'T SEEN BEFORE" you wont'...and when was the last time a John Chavis defense came up with the BIG SACK, an INT, or forced a fumble to stop a game winning drive..Look long and hard..Because when UT had the lead...HE WAS PLAYING THAT SOFT PREVENT...Chavis will bring pressure for 3 quarters and if UT gets the lead..HE STARTS playing passive..Maybe since he got away from Fulmer he will change..I don't think so..They are all from the Johnny Majors tree of coaching..CONSERVATIVE...
