Re pro athletes helping in recruiting, I remember Duece got O.Miss in trouble at some all-star game a few yrs ago by making some contact with a recruit.As far as I know, a former player is considered the same as any other booster & the NCAA regulations apply.

According to rivals they said if we somehow (and hopefully) land BB that we will still be about 19 points short of Alabama FWIW. So no we wouldn't dethrone Bama.

Jaime Newberg makes no sense. We never had Deangelo Benton listed and he did not count for us, so how did him going to Auburn cause us to lose points?
We lost Kenny Bell and gained Sam Montgomery. Montgomery was rated much higher than Bell. That should help us instead of hurt us.
We lost Janzen Jackson, the #16 0r 17 player and we gain Bryce Brown, the #1 player and we don't gain more points than we lost? That should also help us.
Rivals is hopeless in their Bama affection.
But, I really don't care. Anyone with eyes can see that our class is better than Bama's or anyone else's for that matter.
