Mashburn, Williams and Ramos. The others don’t have eligibility left. So, unless I’m missing something, that’s actually 3
Oops, missed Roy and Clayton. But, that doesn’t mean that they will all retain them since they are awarded year to year

Yeah, but some of them are included in the list of Super Seniors

Clearly, you didn’t read the article. I just summarized what he said. I didn’t say he was right.

both Storz and Small are participating in senior night.
And I believe that both have graduated and are considered in the super senior category

68 is the start
Seniors likely gone - Emery (I just think after all the crap that has happened during his time, he is gone), Brooks (years of Arkansas and LSU tape), Jenkins (will likely finish with 400 yards and 6 TDs), Ward (think he's done enough to get drafted at worst 5th round), Banks (that dude is gone. Way too many injuries and a wasted non profitable year to put more tear on his body)
Early outs for sure - Ojulari, Boutte,
Possible early outs - Roy (I think he's gone. With the way Wingo has played and Maason coming back, how does he start? His combine will likely put him in the 2nd or 3rd round)
Guys that I believe will be in the transfer portal after spring - Raydarious Jones, Nussmeier (I think Jayden comes back and Walker Howard is the future IMO), at least 3 more in the trenches and at least 1 more DB
So that is 14 setting LSU at 54. That means they can take 31. We likely lose 1-2 in the class right now so I'll say even the we have 25 commits, we likely only keep 23 and then add 1 DL, 4 DB, and 2 "others".

That give Kelly 31 at minimum to play with. He can add a few good portal guys with that number.
The coaching staff wants to add about 30 HS signees. If they hit that number, it’s not really as much as you think.
I think Shea’s number is high, but 50 is on the low side and only leaves 5 for portal.

What 4 walk ons are getting a scholarship? Outside of Josh Williams
Josh has been on scholarship since 2020

Mashburn, Williams and Ramos
The reason many of us are confused here is because Mashburn and Williams are already on scholarship and should be counted in the 71, so why are they getting added again in number 5? Mashburn earned a scholarship last year and Williams earned one in 2020.
I'm pretty sure Slade Roy and Gregory Clayton Jr. are already on scholarship.

It's $1 for an entire year. As an LSU fan, it's the best money I think I've spent all year.

Your conclusion is off. LSU is in a better position to capitalize on this new rule than any other ranked team.

Sorry for responding so late, but I thought this was confusing as well. I can only guess, but I think it’s because walk-on scholarships are year to year?
If not, I don’t know what he means. In fact, he might be wrong and missed something.
Regardless, if he’s only off by three let’s say, it’s still pretty tight. But it’s a good problem to have compared to last year.

As would I and I paid the dollar. Much like the Scout and 247 boards, its essentially a slurpfest when things are good, all out catastrophe when bad and borderline good info all boxed up in a mini rant like setting. No thanks

Take that 68 number and factor in 8-10 transfers, you're down to 58-60 players. Add 5 more non seniors leaving early for the NFL, that's down to 53-55, allowing a class+transfers of 30-32 players.
