I thought Robinson was recruited by Trooper Taylor

eta: obviously Greg was recruited by his position coach, but I believe Trooper was his primary recruiter

You realize we will probably lose one recruit before another commits, right? Clark is visiting OU, per his mother. Signing around 20 is a real possibility.

you have no idea what you're talking about.

or have you not noticed that LSU has lost 17 early enrollees to the NFL the last 2 years? LSU will keep going with full classes, thank you.

wasnt meant to be a knock; but i would rather see us close with a strong 19 than just pick up guys who were arent crazy about or who we havent even offered yet at this stage in the process.

I was lambasted for stating we would not sign 25 earlier this month. Well, I think we will be very fortunate to sign 22...let alone 25.

This is the oddest recruiting cycle I ever remember...we have a Top 5 class now...will finish in the Top 10...and missed on three in state 5 star recruits and another 4 star.

However, we could still land another 5 star from Cali, and have a narrow chance at a 5 star from MS and another from Georgia. Moreover, hopefully we land one more 5 star from LA.

Really, really strange class and recruiting year. I do feel better about next year with Grimes in the fold...just wish he has been here in the last year.

We're actually not losing that much this year by other means, and that will allow us much more wiggle room in 2015. I won't be shocked if we finish with 21 or so. I see that as a positive, the coaches at least like who we have enough not to send out flyers and use every single spot in the 25 just for warm bodies. The guys we missed were very good, but DT is the only position we're getting thin at.

Start it up. I'm just trying to figure out why this guy is blasting people for something that looks more and more likely every day.

I'd rather we address needs and sign 20-22 than sign 25 just for the hell of it.

IIRC, 9 scholarship seniors plus 6 juniors leaving are the numbers this year. Frankly I'm fine with around 20, if we're going to have to deal with an increased level Jr's to NFL attrition, we're going to have to do a little less "processing". The price is you can't sign 25 every year...

We would absolutely sign 25 if we could get the targets we wanted, the difference is missing on so many this year.

there is some logic in that. every cycle has to factor in the previous and the next at the same time.

I think 2015 is a heavy DT class, and there's some choice WR's out there. haven't looked but I'm praying 2015 is also a good OL year.

So you get picky on the WRs and if you don't get a Valentine you have to think about saving that one for 2 the next year. It's a "big picture" thing.

Not trying to blast, just don't think LSU would be hosting guys like George Rushing and Trey Leialaimatafou if they don't intend to fill 25 slots.

I'll try to get to 25. Losing Clark puts us at 17 so 8 spots left.
1. Kelly, Jr
2. Dupree
3. Valentine
4. Speaks
5. Carter
6. Jackson
7. Young
8. Porter

That leaves, Rushing, Granier, Olaka, M. McDowell, Leialaimatafou to fill in any that we miss up there. Sure some of these are longshots, but they all have visited, will visit with the exception of Lealaimatafou who has an offer but no visit confirmed yet.

many on that list we have no shot at - IMO.. maybe 3 or 4 tops.

i personally dont think we get Jackson , Carter or young.. the others are toss ups - IMO

Also 2015 has some top notch CBs coming in so we may save offers for those positions as well
