Well we have 9 OL who will be listed as Freshmen (either by redshirting or last year not counting). Perry, Bradford, Thomas, Turner, Martinez, Hill, Dumervil, Dellinger and Makaneole. I am not saying we didn't need Leigh or another highly talented OL in the class, it is just not as dire as the numerous thread that beat this horse to death portray.

no shots taken by anyone. Shelvin did what he thought was right. hope it works out. He wasn't taking a shot because he thanked coaches and not O personally. Chase did what he thought was best. O wasn't taking a shot when he said Boutte didn't blink because now next man up is what is best for this team. Like Tom Brady said when he blew out his knee, it is a humbling game, as soon as you cross the white lines they blow the whistle and the game continues no matter how much you won or what you did befoe.

Great man. I was his research assistant. One of my duties was to read into a tape recorder all material he was interested in. I was conservative and he obviously was not. I had to read a book about Bork during his confirmation and then Professor Pugh wanted to debate his merits. Tough job for me as you would imagine. I did very well in criminal justice, which is I guess how I got the offer to be one of his assistants. i didn't do so well in Federal Courts. He told me "don't worry Mr. Pizza, city court needs good lawyers too." He later signed me up for an interview with a Justice on the Louisiana Supreme Court when I was trying to decide whether to interview. Told me I could quit debating it I already had an interview time with the Justice. Man with a great sense of humor that some didn't understand. He really enjoyed teaching and communicating. He will be missed.

We need 9 players to transfer or leave early if we sign a full 25 this year. Spots like this where upperclassmen are in the middle of the depth chart are prime for transferring or leaving early. Combine that with not liking school or having to sit out a year if you are not graduating unless you transfer to a lower level, and some may take their chances on making a practice squad instead.
