Edwards will be a monster DT. Always felt that way no matter how much people keep saying he can play outside and wants to. Ego Ferguson was the same way and look where he is now. DTs with Edwards and Ferguson's athleticism are much more valuable and rare than a big, solid DE. If the NFL is the dream then DT is the way to go.

IMO Edwards is not explosive enough off the ball to be considered a #1 in the country type of prospect. I think that Freak Johnson was a better prospect the year before, as well as Jernigan from Florida. And it took Rivals the entire year to give Freak the 5th star, and they never gave it to Jernigan.

I've got Hawkins at DT. Just from reading the websites and all.

He's probably athletic enough to play it, but the talk all along has been they were recruiting him as an OL. Miles mentioned him as an OL on Signing Day and thats where he's listed on the roster.

You guys seem to have nothing to worry about with Wilson based on the following...not looking good for my Longhorns.

Ishmael Wilson (Dallas/Bishop Dunne) wasn’t happy to leave Baton Rouge last weekend without an offer from LSU, but that slight hasn’t hurt the Tigers’ chances of landing one of the state’s top junior offensive linemen.

“My favorite school is LSU, hands down,” he said.

Wilson attended LSU’s junior day last weekend and was confident he’d get his offer. But coach Les Miles had yet to see any film of Wilson’s junior season, and he wouldn’t offer until he spent time breaking down the tape.

Thanks

Most of the guys here want him to get offered, and when the coaches look at the film hopefully they will see what we see in him

a little blurb from ESPN insider...yeah, after a few years of crappy OL evaluations from our staff we need to restock in the trenches and Wilson was definitely on my wishlist...mean streak in an O lineman makes me happy.

Thanks for the update.

I hope Miles offers in the next couple of days so we can add a new commitment.

I hear ya...with that update it seems our only hope may be that he meets a fine piece of arse he wants to hold on to...at least that's my wish for him.

Now everyone in this thread that was ripping LM for not offering Ishmael at junior day can relax. Les wasn't slow playing him or being passive or any of the other things you guys were accusing him of. He was being a smart coach and chose to watch some film on him before offering. I am sure alot of guys look good at junior day in shorts and t-shirts but you have to watch game film before you offer a scholly.

Ol' Les just didn't get around to watching film of one of the top OL in the state of TX. Wonderful. He's always two steps ahead

This is what I don't get. Shouldn't they prioritize film studies? Best prospects on their board get the earliest offers because they're going to get the most attention...

Makes me wonder if this is one reason LSU is starting to lose a little ground in the state. Are they not getting on recruits early enough with programs like Bama taking advantage?

of course not, which is what makes that post so ridiculous. LSU is slow playing him for some reason. If it really was just a matter of Miles not having seen his film knowing he was coming in town, then LSU has bigger issues.
