Ah the old remember this 2 or 3 star that was great post.
If we havent ever seen that before.
Alabama got great under Saban because they took so many underrated 2 and 3 stars! Same with Kirby at UGA, right?

He was a 3-star.
Never forget tRant posters say stuff that is wrong all the time.
He got hurt. He was the leading receiver at the time if my memory is correct.
Jamar Chase was a 5-star, CEH & Burrow were 4-stars.
Of course not. Who thinks that? What they do is identify guys with great potential, primarily based on camp performances and high school production, with an eye toward eligibility. Therefore, sometimes guys are undervalued over concerns they will not qualify.

He was hurt. He also did not camp. So he flew totally under the radar.
This is the thing everyone always misses out on. Kids who don't camp are going to routinely be graded lower t6fIt has happened forever and it will continue to happen.

Never forget you need to thank Deshaun smith for not coming to lsu. They pivoted and offered Jetts

Never once did he get upstaged. Idk what you remember but I remember him leading the country in TDs late in the year until he got hurt for several games.

Why folks slept on Jetts was that he was really "ho hum" on measurables. Certainly he was big and fast enough, with proven enough hands to play, but no "wow" factor - at least not an obvious one.
His "wow" factor was that literally no one in CFB was working as hard at being a great WR as he was. You could see it in the routes he ran in 2019. That is a cat that is using his entire body, head to toe, to gain an advantage on the defender.
You might be taller, faster, stronger than Jetts, but you're not going to outwork him (similar to Jerry Rice's philosophy).

The team that signs the highest # of 5 and 4 stars over several years usually ends up Top 10 year after year assuming good coaching eg. Saban and AL, Smart and GA.

Never forget that Ja’Marr Chase was a 5 star

This has been explained over and over and yet the fable continues. Indicative of how many of the rumors take life in the recruiting world. Someone hears something once and run with it. There's still a large portion of fans that believe Tyrann Mathieu was a 2* when there's literally websites showing different. Misinformation is gonna be the downfall of society.
And some "fables" are true

This helps to make my point.
If you get a five star with a bad attitude he may be less likely to contribute than a three or four star.
Chase had a great attitude and talent. Denver Harris had a shite attitude and talent. Jetts had the right attitude.
Sage Ryan was a five star with a good attitude but his play was mediocre at best.
They will hand over millions to an eighteen year old, how is he going to deal with complacency and outside influences?
Josh Booty was rated ahead of Peyton Manning out of high school. He went to MLB and got millions but washed out. Did he forget how to play football? Nope, he was arrogant AF because he was rich at the time, complacency killed his football potential.
