Agree.......with the WR class they could possibly have, they need a big time pro-style QB to get them the ball!

finally we dont have a pressing need for a QB.

My thoughts exactly. But to whomever said RB is a need, it will be a depth need but not a playing time need.

LB would be a postion I would think we need one or two quality guys. Don't need numbers there but don't turn away any studs.

DT, I would call it a need. Of course DT is a postion I would never have a class that didn't have one.. ever.

Offensive line, same as DT. My philosophy is if you are going to have a consistent product you need to sign DT's and OL every single year without big bumps or dips. OL need maturity and rarely are good enough to compete at a high level when they are young.

2014 RB will be a big need. Not numbers but two quality guys. They won't be pressed into early playing time but for down the road.

DB's not doubt we have a decent haul there next season.

QB, I would try to get one!

WR, I think we can coast there next year and go lighter than normal. Not empty but not the numbers we have been getting the last few years.

I don't care how you slice it, 3 RBs with at least 1(Hilliard), maybe 2(Magee) gone after '14, leaving only Hill(of backs currently on the roster) is not enough. Not in our system. We have to take at least 2, maybe 3 next year. Sorry if I don't choose to put the entire position on Fournette's shoulders. RB is a short term lifespan position. They get injured a lot. If we only take Fournette to add to Hill for '15, what do we do if they get hurt? We'd be fricked and relying on true freshmen to carry the load. Sure RB is a position that a freshman can carry the load but do we really want that to be the only option? We should take one this year and 2 next year. We use multiple backs and even Fournette isn't changing that. He's obviously not worried about depth charts if he's seriously considering Bama so I don't buy that "you're the only priority at RB" bs. RBs these days want other backs to share the load with. They know their careers are short and don't need to be rundown before getting to the NFL.

I agree with some of what you post. RB is unlike a lot of positions. Freshman can come in and contribute right away, as you alluded to. Our system is multiple many multiple RB's but it doesn't have to stay that way and almost surely will not.

Two RB's next year should be enough although as with every position what is out there and willing to sign alters what you get from what you want.

RB- We need Leonard F. We can't let that type of talent slip out of state. We won't need a ton of depth because I don't see anyone leaving early for the draft due to the fact their stock won't be incredibly high with the amount of RB by committee we run.

OL- Make sure we keep Robinson home and grab a few big bodies, can never have too many good ones on the O-line.

DB- We should load up in '14 Laurence Jones and Paris we'll be the high profile guys but just as in the '12 and '13 class get guys with outstanding athletic ability and develop them into studs.

DT- Ego and Freak are gonna be monsters on the interior and I'm scared one if not both will bolt.

All 6 are draft eligible in either 2013 or 2014. RB's can and do leave early even if they are not first rounders. I'd expect to lose at least one of the 3 (Hilliard, Hill and McGee) that are eligible starting in 2014.

Only Hilliard and Magee will be able to leave in 2014 and I suspect McGee won't leave until 2015 along with Hill.

To be draft eligible player has to be 3 years removed from his HS class graduation, for J Hill that was 2011, so he will be draft eligible in 2014.

Oh did not know the specifics, if so I still don't see him leaving until 2015 draft.

That may be, obviously it depends on how he does and who, if anyone leaves after 2012. If Ford and Ware leave after this year and Hill has a good year in 2013, I could see him leaving. RB's have a short shelf life in the NFL and you don;t need to run for 1500 yds to get drafted in the first 4-5 rounds.

I do think that by 2014 no more than 2 will still be here so, McGee and Hill seem like the most likely 2, and assuming we don't sign a RB in 2013, we will need more than just Fournette in that class.

If anyone leaves, it's Ware and Ford.
Blue, Hilliard, Hill, Mcgee are still here.

We don't NEED anyone. Get over it. LSU will find someone else and still be LSU if he doesn't come. With that said, of course I want him.

Ware, Ford and Blue will be out of eligibility by 2014 anyway, so those guys will be gone. 2014 will be Hilliard and McGee's last year of eligibility. Hill could stay thru 2015 if he wanted. Given the short life span of RB's at the next level, its naive to think that some won't leave early.

Reading comprehesion is your friend. I've said repeatedly that no one prosepct is a make or break guy. And I stated we need more than 1 RB in 2014. Even if everyone stayed his full 4 years, we currently have only 1 guy on the roster (Hill) that is eligible beyond 2014. Since it looks like we will not sign anyone in 2013, we will need to sign 2-3 in 2014. Hopefull Fournette is one, but if he's not I agree we will get someone else.
