“It was just all of the guys from The Boot, sitting there and talking with [coach Ed Orgeron],” Sopsher told SEC Country. “When we were there, it was like we were already a team and we would be doing some big things together. The message … to stay home and to win a national championship and be great.
“It was a great energy. We were all sitting together and talking, and they were showing us some stuff like some videos of the past LSU players and recruits that were here. It was great. We were sitting down, talking and all getting along. It was like we were already a team.”
Sopsher, along with his mother, father and older brother Rodney, spent time in coach Ed Orgeron’s office before returning home to Amite, La. LSU’s coach stressed the importance of Sopsher to the future of the in-state program.
“He was telling me that I look good in the uniform,” laughed Sopsher, the No. 2 overall prospect in the Class of 2019. “He really wants me to play for him and we could change the state of Louisiana. It’s just crazy. We can do big things at LSU and win a national championship and really, give everybody hope.

Oh man we need this kid very badly.

Him and Kardell need to be our leaders for the class. Hopefully we get him.

Getting Sopsher would be huge from a talent standpoint and a big step towards breaking up the Amite/Bama pipeline.

Seeking a comparison from a knowledgeable source. Is he above, on or below their level? And based on what evaluation?

Yeah great until Alabama's bag man comes along and has a talk with the family$$$. I hope LSU can keep the top LA. kids in state because every year we hear its all about staying home then Bama snags one or 2 good ones . This year was a down year, in La., so bama didnt snag any real top 5 types out of LA.

not an expert and not playing captain obvious, but all 3 recruiting ranking have him as a high 5* (#2 overall on 247, 3 on Rivals and 8 on ESPN)

I originally thought this:
was a response to this:
And I was like, “frick yeah.”

Tha Barber in amite and his best friend trying to get him to Alabama but told me he is all LSU

Him and Thomas both make this class elite off the get go if we get both.
I believe we only get two RB and that will be Cain and Davis. Emery likely goes elsewhere.
Unfortunate as he is a special RB out of Destrehan.
