This kid is holding his cards close to the vest. SEC recruiting board seems to think it's down to Georgia vs Bama. Anything from his visit this past weekend that might suggest LSU has a chance?

He loves Dave Aranda. Dave is our only shot here.

alabama bound. CB's rolling on him today. Bamas class is a monster.

Vol, I’m beginning to feel a bit uneasy on this finish
Think a toy pop gun you’d play with at Cracker Barrel before smashing some apple pancakes
Meanwhile Saban and Kirby are elbows deep in the Manhattan project

Their recruiting budget allows them to play with the Manhattan project... Meanwhile we're still shooting bottle rockets at cats. Our coaches do what they can when they can, but until the BOS, governor, F.King, Alleva, etc... All get on the same page and take the gloves off, we'll be running 3rd in that race. Possibly 4th soon with A&M on the up. Our only savior there is Texas is also on the up and they have to fight with them over everything.

This is flat out sad, and shows how far we've really fallen in recent years from being "elite".
Is Orgeron lobbying to get this changed? I can't believe that those in power are placing limitations on something as essential as recruiting.

LSU is one of the top football revenue producing schools. Does the BOS, governor F.King and Alleva not have the vision that talent is the is the future? Seriously investing a couple of more million from football revenues can probably get us up to bama and UGA standards. Playing in the SEC championship 2 out of 5 years, in the playoff 3 out of 5 years and in a New Years six bowel 9 out of 10 years is a killer investment. Talent is where it starts. That's where the investment needs to happen.
It is so obvious.

He's doing his best, but let's all be honest and have a show of hands that thinks Ed is the future of this program?... Exactly... And the money backers and powers at be aren't willing to go all in under him right now either. He gets help here and there no doubt, but he isn't walking around like Kirby and Nick with blank checks and $100 hand shakes everywhere he goes.

I would estimate only 10% of LSU fans understand the importance of recruiting. 25% of bama fans understand it. More LSU fans need to understand college football games are won and lost in February. The more fans engaged in recruiting the more effect it might have on the governor, BOS, F. King and Alleva.
The irony is that these same fans understand the importance of talent accumulation at the NFL level via the draft. But in casual conversation these folks they put zero thought into recruiting high school talent for college programs.

Well why not? He will never be able to prove anything if our guys do not back him. He's done a great job this year, all things considered. So why not help him out?

Vol, if things don't work out with the "big fish", are there any in-state kids that we like? ex. Sonnier, Barquet?

You're right...but if this is how they feel, may as well cut losses now instead of allowing a slow leak to eventually sink the ship.

No he's not.
He's rolling with a substandard OC. Did anyone in the Admin force him to hire E?
Until he rectifies that, there is no reasonable expectation that he's a long term coach.

No, they forced him to hire Canada

If that's true then we are sunk. If Alleva and F King picked O they have to go all in with money and resources. If not, then cut the chord. I've said since the hire that the issue does not start with O. It's our AD and his minions. The Louisiana good ole boy network is disgusting.

Just bring DEVIN with him

Ok, so who "forced" him to hire E?
There were literally a 100 more proven OCs available after Canada.
There is no defending this. If championships matter to recruits, then we punted and it has zero to do with BoS, etc.
