IMO, which ain't worth sh*t:

QB - B
RB - A
WR - B (group could be special, lots of potential but no big names)
TE - A
OL - A+ (Davis & Calloway should be ready by year 2, Williams has huge ceiling)
DE - B- (imo, just bodies and potential currently)
DL - D- (weakest unit on the team already, needed so much more)
LB - A+
CB - B- (not DBU standard players, missed on game changers, don't see any of them making impact as FR)
S - B+

Sidenote - I'm not sure where you got the star rankings from, the only 5* I'm aware of is Weston Davis and that is only on On3.

Keys is the best LB out of the ones we got. Difference maker.

Look at the title..."My unit and individual evaluations". It is an opinion piece which BTW is no more subjective than the recruiting services ratings.

To dstone12: Echols will be. How do you think that Wiltfong and those other predictors get their high percentages...they have "snitches". I will PROMISE you that Echols signature on Wednesday leaked like a sieve. He is announcing Friday but they already know who he signed with.

Nope, not in the least. I actually watched several minutes of admittedly HIGHlights where available which is probably more research than the recruiting services did. That is NOT remotely pulling them out of thin air.

Actually ours are pretty darn close other than DE and S. On DE, I have no idea how you can say "potential" about Reliford. He is Danielle Hunter 2.0. Look at his HUDL video. He is quick, fast, and has strength to bull rush. If you think that is only "potential" then every HS prospect only has "potential" since none have played at the college level. On safeties, IMO your grade is a bit low with multiple great athletes there and Gilbert who was a starter before being injured at A&M which had a very good defense.

Nope, not randomly assigned at all. I didn't put everybody's name on balls in one tumbler and 3 through 5 balls in another tumbler and drew out one ball from each. THAT is randomly assigned. When you make what you consider an informed decision, you actually can that a random act? I sincerely hope that isn't true. Calling it an opinion piece is fair...randomly assigned doesn't even make sense.

“No more subjective” is much different than “of equal value”

Unless your day job is high school talent evaluation, then you probably haven’t looked at as many kids as the services have and with nearly the depth of review.

This is akin to someone saying “roadway pavement assessments are all subjective, so my assessment is of equal value as a civil engineer’s.” Not all opinions hold equal value.

Hey, I hope I'm wrong, but I do not see the Hunter comparison. As a prospect, Hunter was 2-4 inches taller, nearly 40 lbs lighter, a shite load more athletic (track runner, long jumper), and projected to play DE whereas Reliford is listed as DL currently. IMO, the better comp is Jamauria Rasco.

I watched Reliford's highlights. To me, the majority of the plays he was essentially unblocked with a free run at the ball carrier or QB. I'm not saying he won't be good, but I'm not predicting him to be first team all-sec either.

Agree on all except TE is instant A+ because you get the best TE in the country that’s over 6”7 and Safety up to an A. Gilbert is quality starter and McBryde and Rogers are studs on film.

Any comparison to Danielle Hunter should be taken with a grain of salt like you said. He’s a top 10 DE in the league going on 10 years now. He’s a freaky athlete. Not many Hunters going around.

I consider my evaluations MUCH BETTER than the recruiting services for one simple reason. Their entire assumption for their methodology is BOGUS! Their star assignments as they represent are pro potential. No person on the planet earth can project pro effectiveness 4 years in advance. If you believe that, you believe in the Easter Bunny. And BTW, I NEVER said I looked at as many kids as the services. I only look at prospects LSU is interested in... a tiny fraction of HS players. And BTW to call recruiting services equivalent of civil engineers in their competency is one of the most laughable statements I have ever seen on the internet. I TRY to project HS players for their COLLEGE potential, NOT PRO potential.

Obviously my Danielle Hunter comparison was based upon Danielle Hunter in college, NOT after years and years in the NFL. But if you remember for whatever reason, Hunter didn't explode until late in his LSU career...like his final season the way I remember.

First, it is VERY COMMON for guys to be unblocked when they are faster and quicker than the OL. Second, let me point you to 2 exact plays in his SR highlights on 247 profile. Look at 1:12 where he blocks the punt. And especially look at 2:40 where he and his teammates are chasing the RB from behind and HE catches him...NO ANGLE at all...straight from behind. Maybe the runner had cement in his shoes but for a MAN that big to catch that RB even if he only had decent speed is AMAZING. I have looked at hundreds of HIGHlights of defensive players over the years...that is the best video I have seen. I will ADMIT like all of the videos that I don't have a clue about the competition but he did it against a bunch of different teams/players. Lastly, Reliford is listed as EDGE, NOT a DL or DT on the 247 site.
