My Underwood Comp

Trevor Lawrence.
After watching Underwood’s film (and I could only find sophomore film), he reminds me a lot of Lawrence. He has a similar size, build, and athleticism. He has good speed in high school that will be more like above average at the next level… more of a straight line runner like Lawrence.
He has good arm strength with good touch. It looks like some of his favorite tendencies are quick, outside fades to the right side. He always keeps his eyes downfield and is dangerous when rolling right. He throws well on the run and his throws are almost always in a spot where only his WR can get it. He has a short, quick release that’s similar to Lawrence as well. He likes making quick reads with quick decisions, often going with the first read successfully. He has great downfield accuracy. His throwing motion and release really remind me of Lawrence.
I think we have a good one here and the best part is, usually when a QB commits, they stick to it. That’s not to say anything is guaranteed, but it’s the one position where commitments seem to stick most of the time.

I don't need a QB to glide like Daniels but I want a guy who can get himself out of a pickle or mix in a sneaky first down run. Lawrence ran for 568 yards in 2019, Burrow went for 400 and 370 in 18 and 19. Valuable yards.

I've seen others make that comp before. It's not a bad one. IMO he's the best QB prospect since Lawrence.

Just watched his highlights. His throwing motion is very similar to Vince Young, IMO.
Not a knock at all, as Young won a national title and was one helluva college QB. Just an observation.

I feel like Underwood is a bit more mobile/faster than Lawrence was. But idk maybe Lawrence was a lot faster than I thought

Vince young had an awful throwing motion

Yeah, thats a pretty good one though he looks more athletic than Lawrance to me. I was thinking potentially a young Cam Newton.

Lawrence is faster and a lot shiftier than he gets credit for.

Underwood is one of the best natural arm talents I’ve ever seen. There are guys starting in the NFL right now that don’t have the arm he has at 16 years old.
