This is a valid point. But how does the old cliche go: keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

If what people are saying are even remotely true, then don’t put it past DB to use the NCAA to do his dirty work if it means he wins in the end.

It all still seems very conspiracy theorist to me. But I have lived in the world of politics and egocentric narcissists long enough to believe it is more than plausible. It has been well known for years that DB continued to stay heavily involved in the program and exerting what influence he has. And as much as it pains me to say it, as I was always a huge fan of his, DB has been a hinderance to the program for years now. So if Wade came in demanding autonomy and pulled the rug out from under DB (which seems like a Wade thing to do), then I can see DB wanting to screw Wade over any way that he can; especially in a situation like this where he can point the finger and say, “I told you so.”

He’s not siding with the NCAA as much as he’s getting back at the guy who pushed him out of the program he’s more or less ran for 50 years. He just hates Wade.

It’s wade’s program and not Dale’s and the latter doesn’t like it. They hate each other. Dale is stirring things up and DV gets tango from Dale like comments on investigations, etc.

No it wasn’t. Someone who works in a very close capacity to wade told me directly that wade believes, with good reason, that calipari was behind all of this. Wade outbid cal for jaVonte and he was furious.

Here’s the best analogy I’ve seen as to why wade is so hated by the older coaches:

All of these older coaches (cal, coach K, self, Roy Williams) are like Bank tellers. They’ve worked at the bank for 30 years, and have stolen penny by penny, every day for 30 years. Will Wade got hired at the same bank as them, and on his first day, marched right into the vault, cleared the whole thing out, and walked right out of the front door.
