He was not all state in 2A last year. But now he is #1 in the country?

Do you not know the difference in how all-state teams and recruiting rankings are compiled?

Major discrepancies are extremely common.

There’s a reason he skipped all the camps and Elite 11. His status takes a hit if he gets outshined by 8-10 other QBs

My God I've been saying this forever and most local scouts who aren't afraid to open their mouths have said the same. Kid is a 4 star AT BEST.

I watch guys like Dante Moore, Nico Iamaleava, Jaden Rashada, and Jackson Arnold and wonder how Arch is even close to any of them.

All these scouting programs have been so afraid to downgrade him it's ridiculous.

If anyone met the Mannings you'd all wonder how they were such good athletes truth be told. They're some goofy looking dudes.

That said, most of them got off the slow careers and eventually developed into what you see in NFL. I think it's ridiculous to slap a 3* on Arch but it's also just as ridiculous to say Manning has the insane rating he does now. There's no way someone can look at him right now and say he has more potential than a Dante Moore or 5 other big names QBs in the class. Potential is there but not anywhere near where he's rated. It seems genuinely unfair and it's another reason I think he's setup to fail at Texas with their unrealistic expectations for him. Also, another reason recruiting rankings are cancer.

I’ve been saying that. The kid looks good at camps and drills. But in game he doesn’t look that special compared to others. His team isn’t great so maybe that plays a part. But his name is what has elevated him to this status.
what camps and drills? The LSU one and Manning Passing Academy? None of that looks special, he looks average at best.

But what does Alan Alda think?

Thinks he’d be better flying below the radar.

Sark may as well start drinking again if he’s hitching his wagon to Arch. He struggles to stand out in church league.

I think he wanted Arch for the headlines and to help recruit other players. He'll have other great options at QB if Arch is a bust.

If he can’t get results from 2 of the highest rated prospects in history, both QBs in his program........he’s gonna be job shopping again

It isn’t ridiculous to call Manning a 3star because that what he is. Have you seen him play? I have and I can tell you that Ricky Collins and Eli Holstein are both 4 star QBs and both are better than Manning and it isn’t close.

He's ranked where he is only because both Eli and Peyton turned into long time NFL starters with great success.

Peyton was very highly rated but Eli wasn't.

Manning doesn’t go to camps. He did a little 7 on 7 but not camps.

This was all I needed to see. It screams out that I’m overrated and not at the level of what I am ranked. Absolutely the #1 so called QB in the country should have been at the Elite 11 and camped somewhere! That’s the bottom line. His upcoming SR year will also say a lot.

Im far from a Farrell fan but he's not completely off base. The 3 star part is nonsense. That is just goading. The actual comments ring true. More than a few have said the same but have to toe the company line. Ask 247 how hitching their wagon to him has helped them. I see a mid to high 4 with talent, upside and great lineage intangibles. He's not the 2nd coming and not the best qb in the class. Maybe the state.

He’s a very solid 4 star. A headliner QB for a top 25 Program

3 star QBs are guys that get mid tier regional offered or class fillers as a QB2 at bigger schools

A three star “with the tangibles” would be a five star. It’s the intangibles you are thinking of.

People put a lot of negative comments about this young man. How many have seen him play? Remember what district he plays in. He was as big if not larger than most of his OL. If he would have played 5A maybe a little different results
