I was referring to his college performances to this point. Last I checked, Hoover was not a D1 football program. Not saying he's not a good back, but I'll wait a couple more years before I crown him the king of college football. At this point, hard to say who's gonna be the better back. After all, Michael and Richardson are just starting their senior years. Only after the season, will anyone be able to make a fair comparison.

you were downing the level of competition...the point is Hoover was a tough game for any high school team in the world and he made it looks easy...he showed enough in limited action a year ago as a true frosh that clearly showed he plays the game at a different speed than most

it is a bigger longshot to say that he won't be successful than to say he will be successful at this point ...he's an absolute beast

Never said he wouldn't be successful, just said its too early to determine who will be the better back out of JM, CM, or TR. As far as the level of comp., I was referring only to his college career. Thus far, his accomplishments have come against weaker opponents, in college. I'm not saying he won't be great, just that its too early to say what type of backs he, or the other 2 will ultimately become.

fair enough...as far as talent among the three, I like McKnight's skill set and what he brings to the table, but I would stack him up against most any RB out there on any level... I will say that all three do things a little different

it is all conjecture at the moment, but while I have never seen the other two play in person I still feel comfortable saying McKnight is the greater talent between the three

Well, I haven't seen any of the 3 in person, so, I'll reserve my opinion for a later date.

what if McKnight had been switched to CB in college and return man. He played a lot of DB in high school and IMO looked like he was a natural for the position and could have been one of the best ever at any level. As a RB is he going to be a situational RB in the pros like reggie bush or an every down back?

good point about how his game will transfer to the pros since he is not a between-the-tackles sort, so to speak

but in college you would be dumb to pidgeon hole him on the defensive side of the ball...he is just too valuable with the ball in his hands... he's right there with Harvin among the most dangerous playmakers in the college game with ball in his hands

Maybe McNight has been fortunate to be in the system. How many of the Curtis players have been super since they left HS?
How many of the recent Southern Cal players have been super once they left for the NFL?
Lienart looks terrible. L White is about to lose his starting spot at Tennessee to Chris Johnson, a rookie from East Carolina. Bush has been good but not the game changer as predicted. The big receiver off that team who came out early has been a bust.

I tell you one thing, the way Pete Carroll is not preparing McKnight for the pro game. McKnight has been able to excel in wide open space, but didn't produce early in the year between the tackles. Eerily similar to Reggie Bush. You don't get that space in the NFL, and no single player is going to be able to create seperation like JM and RB did at USC. Has a lot to do with the other 11 studs on the field as well to give them those creases.

I have seen some explosiveness from JM and he'll be a great college back. I just don't know if what I have seen translates to the next level.

You could be right. As far as Curtis players go, I want you guys who are interested to keep an eye on Nebraska #13 over the next few years.

He was upset last week, but if he gets redshirted it's going to end up being a blessing for him. He has the prototype NFL size for a safety and he's going to work on his speed. He's not slow. He just needs to get faster. Most players do.
