Coaches can learn and improve just as players can. Mcmahon didn't win 31 games and beat Todd Golden in the NCAA tournament because he can't coach. SEC is definitely a different animal especially this year but nothing wrong with saying he has a more balanced, experienced and talented roster this year and maybe that combined with a less competitive league helps him make some strides this year. But the constant insulting and ranting with every announcement is juvenile. I loved Wade but I didn't start sh*ittng on Mcmahon the day he got here like a lot of these yahoos did wanting him fired after the first year. If Mcmahon doesn't turn it around this year he's gone. That simple. There are 2 camps. The LSU basketball fans that want a successful program thus want Mcmahon to be successful this year and the haters that want him to lose and be fired and crap on every single thing that is posted about the program.

What's laughable is that you think Wade was being TRULY contrite when admitting his past "mistakes".
The fact is, EVERY MOTHERFLUCKING TOP PLAYER has been ILLEGALLY bought and paid for since before the John Wooden days.
It's beyond hypocritical that grown ups act like there is this rogue element in college sports that breaks the rules just because they've "bad dudes" and that certain coaches St. K at Duke and others do it the right way.
That is so far from reality, and it's why it's so hypocritical to go after a guy like Wade who was just doing what had to be done to win.
Meanwhile, all the "respected" news mouthpieces like prick vitale and gay Bilas COMPLETELY IGNORE what is going on across the board, especially at Duke.
Gay Bilas played for them. He knows exactly how the sausage is made.
There aren't many things worse than a hypocrite. I do my best to not be one EVER. I'm not perfect so I probably haven't succeeded in that. But I still try my damdest.

Nope. Not even close to a correct assessment, at least where I'm concerned.
I want McMahon to turn into Bruce Pearl IMMEDIATELY so we don't have to fire him, and we just keep him and let him win big here.
Any rational thinker knows this is like hoping for a lottery win.
I've seen enough of him. There would've been signs along the way. An upset or three. Nope, nothing. Just horrible performances stacked on top of each other.

…you literally proved my point
You want him to win but you are so wise you know he won’t, therefore you are ready for him to lose…which is what I’m saying

We will see if we have spent enough money to overcome the coaching deficiencies.

Listen closely retard.
Will Wade is an INFINITELY better coach than this really nice guy we have running our program now.
We had him here, and we pissed that away out of some duty to appear to be against breaking the rules which is absurd. You can run a clean program or you can win, but you can't do both.
I would take Golden, Pearl or Oates over Wade. And there are others.
But we had Wade here and by all accounts, he was in it long term. How a true LSU fan can't be so mad he wants to spit right now is beyond me.
If you enjoy LESS than mediocre teams yearly, that really nice guy we have coaching us now is YOUR MAN!!!!

I'm ready for the sun to come up tomorrow morning whether I want it to or not. For the record, I want it to.
I don't have to see the movie reran more than a couple of times to tell you how it will end.
I don't think it makes me wise to "know this really nice guy won't win this year". I think it makes anyone believing otherwise really stupid.
Anyone paying attention knows this really nice guy isn't a really good coach.
I'm holding out for a miracle because there's no other choice.
I and a few others on here have stated that our worst nightmare is to have this really nice guy squeeze into the tournament this year, lose first game, and then our fanbase and marathon running AD start to believe we have the right guy, whether he's really nice or not.
There is ZERO good reason that a school that has gotten the talent we have over the years shouldn't be near the top of the league, and in the tournament yearly.

Retarded is what your posts are , is Will Wade through Dogshit, better than John Brady, one has a Final Four and one is done in March like Dinner, what about Dale Brown is he better than him doubtful, he's your delusion, but he's mediocre

Well this thread officially went to shite…
It was fun to follow the portal moves while they lasted.
Thanks to all that contributed actual news.
Here’s to McMahon proving the doubters wrong next year.

I don't have a translator handy so I'm having trouble understanding your post.
Compare the first five years of Dale (who I LOVED as a young tigah growing up in the 80s) with Wade's five at LSU. It's not even close who was better. Give Wade 25 years at the helm, and I'd love to have seen what happened.
Brady took over a truly impossible situation at LSU and did about as good of a job as could be expected, eventually making a final four.
Brady's problem was that at that time, his momma didn't even like him, much less the players or most involved with the program. He also produced McMahon type seasons way more than he produced good ones. Wade had us highly competitive every year.
Hypotheticals aren't easy to predict. I believe Wade would have won for years here, just like he has everywhere he's been. Look at Wade's career record and how he has won conference CHAMPIONSHIPS and made the big dance at every stop he's been. Then look up the definition of mediocre and see how well that matches your description of Wade's performance as a HC.
And he's about to GO OFF in Raleigh, which will further illuminate how our AD completely screwed our program into the ground. Lucky us!!!!

Yes, I have no idea why these so called "fans" bother to log onto this site. It's obvious they don't give 2 shyts about LSU. They just want to tear it down.

Nah, your guy McMahon is doing a great job of doing that all on his own.

Once again you can keep beating on that strawman but he only exist in your mind. Nobody has defended McMahon's performance, nobody has said he has done a good job, and nobody has said they wanted him to keep his job this off season. Posters here pretty much fall into 2 camps. Those who accept he is here for another year so being negative about the program does no good and want to at least be objective about our chances next year and then you have those who are too controlled by emotion and can't accept this so they have decided to troll every thread about basketball. The funny thing is the first group doesn't think coach has done any better of a job than the 2nd group they just aren't as miserable of people and don't throw tantrums.

It's funny how you're willing to completely ignore the fact that it's your hero, the Pear, who orchestrated the tear down. Granted CMM has been unable to resurrect the program but I see where he was hamstrung in that effort and also see signs of new life. Downvote me for being hopeful as that's what you do.

Yeah saying he has been bad even terrible but was dealt a tough hand means he is your "guy" apparently lol.

I didn’t bring up Wade. You did. I’ve accepted that Wade will never coach here again. By objective metrics, he’s better than McMahon. But who isn’t at this point?
