You should’ve been this concerned with the 4 star PF Matt got last year Matt Gilhool who in the circuit averaged 8 points and 4 rebounds as one of the older kids (19 years old ) Tyshawn Duncan average 10 points 6 rebounds in 17u circuit this year . So he younger produces better numbers in the Nike circuit and is a higher ranked kid lol

We didn't want him. We may be getting out recruited but not by ULL.

I’ll eat crow if so. I’ve saw him play in person, dominating athlete at high school, basketball skills aren’t SEC level.

And if he does … again… he will prob be at LSU

Yeah no shite lol so lsu faked offer

Not sure if you are pretending to be stupid or just plain stupid.

I’ll try to explain one last time.

By your terminology of “offers”, LSU has offered over 50 kids. Again by your terminology none of those offers are “fake”.

However in the real world of recruiting not all offers are equal.

LSU has a recruiting board. They rank the players. Let’s say it’s the 50 listed on on3.

They rank them 1-50 in terms of who they want. Then rank again by position (if the top 5 players were all PG’s for example they would not sign or allow to commit 5 PG)

So in this case this kid is probably ranked at C/PF and overall somewhere in the 50 or so kids listed as having “offers”

I’m not stating I know exactly where he is on the C/PF list nor the 50 overall. But while he has moved up on some of the recruiting sites and is worth keeping an eye on he’s just not NOT at (or near) the top of our wish list as it sits right now.

Maybe he will move up on our list as his season moves forward maybe we swing and miss on kids we value and rank higher on our board and he becomes the highest value kid at C/PF left and there are only lower ranked players left it could happen. We will see.

It’s not like all 50 kids we “offered” can sign. We have a draft board for want of a better term and try to get the highest value players on our board before taking guys lower on our board.

That’s how it really works. It’s not “fake”. It’s just offers are different.

I’m done trying to explain it but I hope you get it. Either way. Geaux Tigers.

No by my terminology I’m saying lsu didn’t offer or want to take the 4 star kid out of their backyard they rather try to convince kids to travel across the country and make what recruiting pitch ? That we have been to the tournament in years and have had a player drafted in years ? Vs the recruiting pitch to a 4 star Louisiana kid “ hey stay home be around family “ use common sense lol

We all know lsu didn’t offer 50 kids lol . But they wouldn’t offer a kid that’s a 4 star in Louisiana lol?

So we took a kid last year who was ranked lower than tyshawn duncan but our offer wasn’t real to the higher ranked kid who from Louisiana ? Matt decided he didn’t want to take what would’ve been his highest rated center commit since he been at lsu makes sense

Yeah lol but it’s funny how ULL had a higher ranked kid sign there last year … lsu highest ranked kid was 75th in the country.. ULL highest ranked player was 67 who had offers from auburn , Iowa , and FSU… watch before long lsu will be the 3rd best basketball program in the state with Matt recruiting lol.

So you think having 1 higher-rated player and the 67th-ranked class is outrecruiting a team with the 19th-ranked class?

You really aren't very bright, are you?

So the one player lsu retained from last year class Robert miller ranked 81st nationally while the kid at ULL ranked 67 . So yeah technically they did out recruit lsu last year …

Never done . The dude who said Matt “has a lot of problems but recruiting isn’t one” is what got me going again lol. And just the fact everyone was super happy when we landed cam Carter “ Matt’s getting Louisiana kids to come back!!” But when it’s a 4 star center in your state we don’t offer him a commitable offer according to tiger rant

Cajuns' first commit under the new coach is 2025. Article incorrectly said 2026. I apologize for the error.

Who was the player that ULL had that was ranked higher than LSU's highest-ranked player the same year?

ULL's highest-ranked recruit from 2024 (Miller's year) is Jeremiah Evans who was ranked 234th nationally. ULL had one high school recruit that year. None of them rated higher

So I assume you are talking about the recruit from the 2025 class,

ULL's HS recruits
Joshua Lewis - #54 6-7 180 SF
Mike Collins - unranked 6-1 170 CG

LSU's HS Recuits
Jalen Reece - #81 6-0 170 PG
Mazi Mosley - #85 6-5 165 SG
Matt Gilhool - #89 6-10 205 PF

If you think that constitutes ULL outrecruiting LSU, you really need to to just ignore recruiting going forward.
