Coach Curtis' family is big into LSU. His daughter goes their along with Tackett's two brothers (his nephews). Heck their family has season tickets and grew up watching LSU games.
However, the word is he is very aggravated with the way LSU recruits them.

I know Coach Jess Curtis and his family very well. My son played for Jess. His father John Curtis played QB for LA Tech at the same time Phil Robertson was there and they are friends. His brother John is a long time LHSAA football official. The entire family are class people. Jess is passionate about Many football and is also passionate about his players. No coach is perfect but we are fortunate to have Jess. Tackett is a phenomenal prospect. He has ben offered by about 15 schools now including Tenn, Ark, Miss St, Virginia Tech, Stanford and Virginia. Really don't understand the lack of interest LSU has shown but hopefully that will change.

The lack of interest is because he’s 16 years old playing 2A football without attending a summer camp yet. If LSU offers today, and he camps and they decide he’s not worth a spot then you have to deal with the coach complaining about the way his players are being recruited again. The situation with the many coach is exactly why LSU doesn’t just throw in state offers around.
