UGA just hired his DB coach from USCW. LSU needs to make some moves at corner though. Losing Richardson to OM is a massive failure by the staff, can’t lose a LA kid like that to a rival.

I was huge on Steeples when we hired him but if we lose Richardson to OM I don’t see the point in keeping him on staff through the signing period. He’s been a failure of epic proportions in basically every way this year, very disappointing and surprising. From the outside looking in I really don’t understand how it’s been so bad unless he truly isn’t doing his job at all and is actively telling guys to go elsewhere

I also must have missed the part where Richardson is a lock down corner. Hes a solid SEC starter who would for sure play here but not going to move the needle in a massive way.

I believe he left his LSU visit on Sunday and headed to Oxford.

Steeples can’t recruit for shite outside of STL pipeline he has. This staff as a whole on the defensive side isn’t very relentless when it comes to recruiting top guys out of HS and the portal like other schools are. We’re okay with being out done and feel like we shouldn’t have to go above and beyond for anybody which is a mistake when other schools are rolling out the red carpet treatment every time. Now offensive staff is damn good from Wilson, Hankton, Davis, Sloan, Denbrock. All landing top guys at their position groups. Defense staff is opposite.

I hope you're joking. Richardson was the #4 highest graded corner in the SEC this year per PFF, dude is elite and lightyears ahead of anyone on our team right now. This would be a huge blow to not land him considering he's from LA...and would be going to a rival at that.
He only missed 3 tackles all season long and made over 70 tackles. That alone is a HUGE upgrade from anyone in our secondary who couldnt tackle all season long.

Yep if Kelly is relying on the portal and we cant get guys like Richardson then I guess we give up over 30 points on the avg again. Hell no pass rush and no cover corners equals alot of 8 win seasons or less with Daniels gone now. We must get rid of this defensive staff ASAP.

Steeples is a Great Dude, personally wise, spiritually wise, and can relate to the young guys. The only thing he doesn’t seem to bring to the table is coaching, very surprised he didn’t work out, and yes he didn’t work out. He must give a helluva of a interview because he fooled most fans & BK.

Defensive changes will be made after signing day… you’re content to lose on one guy for now to keep your 27 man freshman class and that’s the right move. Patience
