Good article on Smith (don’t know how to bring up) about his relationship is already better with Pelini than it was with Aranda. Says he loves Pelini and the he has already established a GOOD relationship with Smith’s parents which is a big plus IMO. I don’t see how we don’t get a commitment from Smith, and hopefully he can talk Foreman into committing also. Pelini working!!

1 observation about Pelini and Aranda. Aranda won a National title at LSU and went home (I guess).

Pelini won a National Title at LSU and went to Burbon St.

Yep, I saw Coach P dancing on a table around 3 a.m. in POB's, surrounded by several equally hammered staff members.

Nope. Said in a radio interview he celebrated until early in the morning went to sleep then woke up and agreed to interview at Baylor

Not surprising. Pelini seems like the crazy uncle that just happens to be an elite defensive coach.

To me. Maason Smith is the key to the whole class. If he commits to the good guys soon, then foreman likely follows and the floodgates open and we possibly end up with the best class in LSU history. If he commits to the good guys a while down the road, it has a similar but lessened effect, and we wind up with a very good but not transcendent class. If he commits elsewhere, I am a little worried.

Now, all of this is relative—the worst case scenario, imo, is still gonna be a top ~12 class.

I don’t know many true LSU fans who don’t love a good “he was a legend!” story. Having fun with alcohol and football is our brand. 100 years from now, someone will tell the story of the LSU defensive coordinator beat the hell outta Ohio St, SOB come got drunk with the us at the bar afterward.

Pelini is gonna be so much better than aranda.
Defense was awful the last two years.

Hyperbole are not it is still lame to take a backhanded swipe at a Coach and defense that played well down the stretch and are a part of the best team in CFB history.

Why do we have to down somebody to give somebody else props.

I am excited to see a more aggressive defense and feel Bo is a better complimentary peice to Coach O but still see No reason for excessive negativity towards Coach Aranda or any coach or player.

Agree! Aranda and Pelini are 2 different defensive schemes. Aranda's Dline just wasn’t elite and aggressive!

There’s nothing wrong with that. There is also nothing wrong with going home to your family afterwards.

As much as we love talking about Mason, he should be considered a lock to LSU at this point. I think Neil Farell, Shelvin, and Roy are going to have a very productive year and Maason will take a note of that.
