We need to hit big in the portal again. LSU has become overly reliant on its stars. The drop off in talent is crazy after the usual names.
Also frick samyah smith. Sorry you wasted your time starting, playing in front of packed arenas and contending for national titles. Who were her other offers? Certainly not contenders. If that’s the vibe then frick off

I dont understand the downvotes? Don’t let the door hit her on the way out if she’s that ungrateful. Enjoy playing in front of 4,000 fans and maybe get to the sweet 16 at your next destination. It’s not like South Carolina, UConn, Texas actually needs her. Wherever she’s going is a downgraded experience no doubt.

If that is accurate, they won’t get their moneys worth….she had a couple of good games….

What an insane offer if that’s actually true. She really showed promise in the tournament but you can’t ignore she still averaged about 7 points a game this year.
There are girls with her skillset that will come to LSU without that price tag.

She was one of our targets last season. Maybe she's considering us again? If we don't get Serah Williams, Koval would be a nice pickup although she is a bit slow.............................but you can't teach 6'5". I imagine if she comes here it definitely spells the end for Del Rosario.

If that's true, then there's nothing we can really do about that. Although I think she's going to have a breakout season next year, I don't think she warrants that kind of package.

It’s just bad business to give Smith that kind of money in a sport we already lose 8 million a year in. Our NIL and brand is elite we shouldn’t have to overpay for a kid like smith. In fact she should get a modest raise and be grateful she plays for one of the 5-8 actual contenders in women’s basketball.
Don’t totally blame her taking that payday but also would be equally angry at LSU matching that. She isn’t worth that.

i hear ya - it just means notre dame is down to only four players returning (two of whom were redshirts last year). and one incoming freshman. ikes…that’s a serious rebuild.

Okay I’ve seen enough. Grace and Zakiyah are day 1 CONTRIBUTORS (maybe not starters). Grace is 6’3” and plays with a motor that can’t be taught and Zakiyah is too skilled
