Knox just started following the LSU WBB page yesterday afternoon after finishing her last official visit to TN this weekend

Can’t stand them. Watched their game against Memphis. Good lord!!!! They are athletic and deep. Joyce Edwards is a cheat code. LSU has the talent to compete with them. If Sa’myah & Del Rosario give Mulkey quality minutes LSU gets back to a Final Four.

It seems like there is a lot of buzz around the new additions to the team. I like Redus feels supremely confident in the athletic Arkansas transfer.

At this point I just think it’s so foolish to not think Kim will always have a Sweet 16+ team at minimum. Didn’t she win 30+ games for a decade straight at Baylor?

Not to derail the thread but the big question at LSU will be whether or not McMahon can capitalize on his recruiting success and talented assistants. On paper they should cook.

She sure did. Zakiyah Johnson pushed up her commitment to November 1st. I believe that’s right after her visit to Louisville. Not looking good for the Tigers.

I think LSU lands Knox. I’m skeptical on Johnson because it’s hard betting against the local home team but LSU in the mix to pull it off.

lol In shambles because 357 “Thinks” she commits?? We will revisit this soon. The HEAD COACH said out of her mouth they have to stop relying mainly on the portal…why would she say that????? Because high school recruiting hasn’t gone the way she’s wanted….I would bet my house you don’t go to any games or support the wbb team in ANY capacity. Probably couldn’t name five players on the team without an official roster in front of you…yet and still you’re always here giving your two cents lmao “it’s just wbb” isn’t that what you always say??

I think it’s fine to use the portal in supplementation but ideally HS recruiting wise should be bringing in 2-3 high quality HS kids per year (gives you about 10ish HS players over 4 years of recruiting). Then add 2-3 to round out rosters each offseason to supplement and weak spots, depth or an area of need

I think everyone agrees LSU needs one more. It sucks there aren’t many top post players with great height. However Mbugua was a project. I would almost prefer LSU go to the portal for a tall center and sign a top 2026 post player.

I don’t understand the “high school recruits aren’t receptive” melt. LSU is getting a ton of visits and in serious contention for a lot of prospects now that Mulkey is healthy.

We would have almost certainly gotten Chavez too if it weren’t for the insane era of NIL. Mulkey cannot help it if Texas is deranged enough to offer Chavez 7 figures.

I wouldn’t say that… Currently injured but she will contribute when available. Mbugua’s athleticism and energy alone is second to none in this class.

I haven’t followed WBB recruiting for long, but it seems like it is incredibly hard to actually identify good post players. Most really tall girls are too uncoordinated and it’s hard to tell which big body girls are going to be able to move their feet. You get some no brainers players but it’s a dog fight to land their commitment,

Espn and other recruiting websites have not ranked Mbugua in the top 100. She tore her acl and will miss her senior year. Previously committed to Liberty. She is an unknown, hasn't played wbb very long, more of a project, hard to determine how talented she is. That's from articles and message boards, not a lot info about her like other top recruits. (357, hope you're right on Knox, she would be a great fit at LSU.)

lol… I watched this kid with my own two eyes. She will be really good once she’s available. There’s a reason why the coaches don’t scout from the recruiting services.

Also some kids can’t afford to play travel ball.

Athletic wise her and Knox are the cream of the crop in this class.

Going by what Espn, recruiting websites, and message boards are saying, not my words but their words. They could be wrong about Mbugua. Like you said, your own assessment is that she could be a star player in college. It would be fun to watch her play in college and see how she develops. Top schools like LSU, SC, Uconn, TX, Ucla, etc don't use recruiting websites' analysis and rankings? It would be shocking if they don't use some or part of them.

i've seen them practice, and they look great. all the new guards are quick and shifty. kg, shy and jada are fast. mjracle, who i am super excited about, has some serious lockdown defense. jersey is long and lean and able to really move around the floor. a few of the girls didn't practice due to illness or injury. aneesah is in top condition, as are flau'jae and mk. i will say that i think one of our past guards may see some time at power forward, and i think that's an incredibly smart coaching decision. it will be a good weapon to have, should it be needed, since we are thin on post players. i don't know who all reads these boards, so i'm not saying any more. can't wait til thursday...let's geaux!
