Think Smith has the same type of game as Ladaz, so she will be a good compliment to Reese

Rogers and Velez are plenty good enough to run point.
I’d love HVL and Morrow.
But if we can only get Morrow, go get Rogers.
Velez is a true point who loves to dish but can shoot and finish if need be.

She will when she is developed. Kim will get another experienced post player from the portal to compliment Reese. She will work in Dessario and Smith. After next year she may go to the portal for just depth pieces. In order to be competitive on the national stage she knows there is nothing greater than experience.

Pretty much the same thing football will be doing. Going to the portal to top off the tank. Of course you'll have to drop a line to some major transfers, but all of the pieces needed will already be there.

Not sure why people want Barnum. Like Morrow, having her in the lineup would probably move Angel to defending the tallest opponent big, which isn't ideal given Angel's history of foul troubles. But she doesn't counteract that potential negative by being a prolific scorer/rebounder like Morrow does. If we don't get Morrow I'd rather a taller big to free up Angel. Adding Barnum isn't an upgrade over giving those minutes to a developing Sa'Myah IMO.

Unfortunately bigs are pretty scarce this portal cycle
There is a 6'4 post from UC Santa Barbara, Ila Lane who is a freshmen (with AA mention) who averaged 15 points 13 rebounds on nearly 60% shooting. Granted she has played weak competition, she did very well vs two PAC 12 opponents in USC and Arizona scoring 21 points and 13 points, with double doubles
The issue is Kim is probably looking for a one year deal or a upperclassmen with experience so she wouldn't fit that bill but definitely one of the better bigs in the portal with upside outside of Betts and Morrow. Kim is looking for proven experience to bridge the gap for Rosario and so Reese isn't defending the 5 spot in games
