Bama's recruiting success sometimes gets over-stated related to us. Looking at head-to-head since 2011, we are 32-11-1. the one is Ish Sopsher. we'll see where he lands.

Well, that worked out for us. 247 had Bama as the 2nd school.

I don't know, man...several of these weren't really battles. To me, a battle comes down to the end, and one of the school's is picked. If a prospect commits to one of the schools early, it's snot really a battle. Plus, the guy has to be heavily desired by both schools...like, primary option at that position. I mean, both schools have both offered at least hundreds of other prospects in the last 8 years.

I remember these being heated contests:

2011 -
2012 - Jeremy Hill RB (LSU); Landon Collins S (Bama)
2013 - Kendell Beckwith LB (LSU); (LSU); Tim Williams DE (Bama)
2014 - Leonard Fournette RB; (LSU); Cam Robinson OT (Bama)
2015 -
2016 - Kristian Fulton CB (LSU); Shyheim Carter WR (Bama)
2017 - JaCoby Stevens S (LSU); DeVonta Smith WR (Bama); Phidarian Mathis DT (Bama); Chris Allen LB (Bama)
2018 - Patrick Surtain CB (Bama)
2019 - Ish Sospher DT (LSU/Bama);

Oh, yeah...Moses missing.

Notice there aren't any prospects from Alabama on there...we're going 5 for 15 for mostly Louisiana guys. That's the problem.

Yeah, those numbers are a little skewed (as Opposite pointed out) if we aren't taking into account guys that Bama landed w/ LSU offers.

Like this year, if they land Byron Young and Christian Williams, would you have counted those as Bama "wins" - or not, b/c they aren't from LA?

ETA: You did have a few players from Alabama on your list, but it's still skewed. I'm sure we have offered about 1/2 of Bama's current roster.

Christian Williams - I feel like bama isn't really pressing for him to stay in their class, and their insider inbreds have sort of alluded to this in recent publishes.

Byron Young - From MS...committed to bama, and they want him to stay. He's visiting us right before NSD. This is absolutely a head to head battle, imo.

To your point, while Bama recruited Phillips, in the end, it was actually a classic two-team race between Oklahoma and LSU.

The biggest thing is we have to battle them for LOUISIANA kids. While I know you can’t expect all La kids to stay home. If you take the kids who leave for bama (from la) And they go to LSU. LSU has at least another NC

Absolutely...and it was us and old piss going after Willie Gay in the same class and at the same time, too.

Pretty safe at this point to just say (Bama).

I'll gladly be back to eat my crow if I'm wrong. But the kid is playing LSU 100%. He's all Bama.

Kwon injured his knee his senior season in HS and LSU honored its commitment in their offer. Bama strongly cold shouldered him after that and I believe they may have even reduced it to a grayshirt option (I certainly could be wrong on the GS thing - just recalling from memory that is not real good anymore!)

If you want a real good indicator of the Bama/LSU battles go look at Bama's recruiting classes and count the ones that turned us down. Earlier this past season 247 was running each program's Top 25 recruits of all time on a part of each team's page. 5 of the Bama's top 25 were players they took from us or LA in general.
