ULM spends the least..., shocker.

Why? We pull in a top 10(or 5) class most years, we finish in the top 10(or5) most years, we have 2 national titles the last decade, almost made it three last year, and are in prime position to make a run again this year.
I'm not saying we should slouch, but spending money just to "keep up" with the Joneses is dumb. Put that money towards better facilities or, IDK, a school with finding that is being hacked apart by an irresponsible Governor.

I don't know if I trust these numbers.
I'd be willing to bet LSU spends as much or more than anyone in recruiting.....But maybe LSU categorizes some "recruiting" expenses where they get lumped into other stuff and therefore not included in the "official recruiting" number posted.
Not to mention I'd also guess that most recruiting expenses (for many SEC schools) are not on the books to begin with.
Is it also possible TAF absorbs some recruiting costs?

ULM spends the least and refuses to take talent in the Monroe/WM area for the most part. Idk why they struggle...

Really? WTH? I'd have thought they'd feast on the 2nd or 3rd tier guys up there.

They'll get a Tyler Cain type once every few years. For the most part though the new coach doesn't think the area stacks up. Wonder if those 3 titles won last year changed his mind.

Just looked at their roster, 6 from Monroe/WM, 3 freshmen.

any idea how many D1 guys on avg from that area?
What is it for the state over all 75-100?

It's definitely a hotbed. Tons of talent in the area that Tech and ULM should be tapping into.
ETA: Both passing on the 1A and 4A MVPs in the Dome who both reside in Monroe has been a big WTF moment for locals. To not get them is one thing. To not offer is inexcusable.

No doubt a hotbead, just wonder how many D1 guys come out every year. 20,30? Obviously the elite guys go to LSU level teams. I assume some guys just below that might go to an OM/MSU type school. LT or ULM not taking N La guys that go to other Sun Belt teams would be inexcusible.

TCU has taken 3 from WM the last 2 years and could get another in Xavier Woods this year.

Even before going to the Big XII TCU was a better program, so I can see ULM losing a kid to TCU.
ETA: pretty good move by Patterson to recruit schools like WM

There are good players up there. Tech and ULM get a few of them. Remind you Tyler Cain stayed for family and gf. TCU gets a few from WM. I know Ark and Miss st got an offensive linemen from WM. There are quite a few guys that go the D-2/D-3/Community College route that should hold offers or preferred walk ons from that area. Don't understand why Tech and ULM don't take stabs at recruits from that area more often.
