If storm was on there we might be up to #3. I don't know what is going on with his recruitment and I'm sure the coaches have a plan...it just sucks not knowing what that plan is.

Thought it was interesting to see how the SEC compared to other conferences in the team rankings.....SEC has 4 teams ranked in the top 10 and 6 teams in the top 25 (almost had 7 teams - Auburn is ranked #26).

No other conference is close to the SEC in terms of recruiting rankings. The Big 12 was the only other conference that had more than one team in the top 10.

SEC rules!

Memphischick-IMO the SEC will always lead in recruiting compared to the other conferences because of the overall facilities of each school. Besides its a PASSION in the south.

I predict we'll see 7 or 8 SEC teams in the final analysis come Feb. Thanks for Chief by the way.

Chief will do you right - it sure was not our defense that got us in trouble.

Now if only we could sign a freakin' QB!!

Memphischick-Chief plus Cooper i think is a great combination. That will be the difference. Because Cooper will have a huge say in how the DB's play. I don't think we will be seeing any prevent defense type deals out of our db's.

You have definitely heard from the UT people on this board gripe about how Chavis and the "Mustang" package. Trust me - you will get frustrated at some point this season.

However, if it hadn't been for Monte, TN would not have parted ways with the Chief. I don't know any college coordinator that could be considered an upgrade over him. Also, he is uber loyal and has no aspirations to be a head coach. This concerns me about the all-star staff that we have put together....there is something to be said about consistency amongst a staff.

Anyway - we just need a QB. Seriously. If Scroggins commits to USC as expected then the Volnation site will have a meltdown much worse than the Janzen Jackson one here.

You think that was a meltdown? Naw, man, Joe McKnight to USC was a meltdown. Jackson was a mere blip on the radar.

The ranking is irrelevant; however, getting above 3.5 stars would be nice.

Who is this Memphischick? Please post more. The flame wars have gotten soooooo tiresome.

BTW: I do believce that Monte will have the Tenn. defense performing up to par almost immediately. The problem with him is his age and how much longer he will want to coach. Maybe he will love working with his son and the college game. It may be a breath of fresh air. Nobody knows.

The Offensive side of the ball will likely take longer to turn around. I think the coaches you guys have in place will be able to have at least moderate success if not better. Like you said, your position coaches do not seem to be willing to settle on Coordinator positions for the long term (unlike Crowton and Chavis, I hope).

How much continuity will Lane provide on Offense, if any as OC rotate through? Will Bebe be a good DC once/if Monte moves on?

Eithter way, Phill had to go. I may not like all the news coming out of Knoxville, but change is definitely the "word of the day". Good Luck.

Yeah, and with the huge recruiting weekend that AU just had, I could see them shooting up to 25th after all their big verbals are announced.

USC has 10 commits and OSU has 8. They will finish in the top 10. Just sayin'...
