Bell, the reigning Florida Gatorade Player of the Year, will be a freshman for the Tigers to open the 2013 season. She recently led Chamberlain High School to the 2012 Class 7A state championship where she drove home 12 of her 35 RBIs during the seven-game postseason run. For the season, the Tampa Tribune and Tampa Bay Times Player of the Year selection garnered a .731 batting average fueled by 11 home runs and a 1.366 slugging percentage.

Nice to see Beth reel in a very good hitter LINK

She'll step in and start. As for the three girls from LA, none who we have committed, they're going to BRCC, UCF, and Washington.

If we can get a few more big bats in the lineup, we will be a scary team next year

They also signed a great JC pitcher who also hits quite well. I had not seen her commitment before, but a great catch as well as Bell.

This Bianka Bell chick seems to be getting all kinds of accolades. According to the LSU site in the comments section, "Kelsee Selman" is an LSU commit as well from the 2013 class. Two 1st Team H.S. All-Americans? Beth is doing some work on the recruiting trails it looks like.

Torina also has Allison Walljasper for 2014. Chose LSU over Cal, UCLA, and Washington.

I really like how Torina is recruiting I like that her commitments are good hitters and can play defense just as good

The litmus test for Torina/Dobson will be how well they develop their talent.

Look at LSU's outgoing senior class and everyone of them were great hitters with gaudy numbers in high school and never got any better under James DeFeo for three years and Dobson for one.

I think softball has a better hitting coach, we couldn't hit because of the players the last coach recruited

I agree with that premise to an extent but this year's team hit .220 with 13 home runs with five first-year players opposed to .254 with 27 homers the year before.

See that she will be jr with 62mph fastball. LSU should look at Macalia Brown from Buckeye H.S. Will be Jr., 62mph and best leadoff hitter in state. Was 26-2 this past seasson with like a .8era. 3A state champion. In Colorado playing right now.

She is not my daughter, however mine is a teammate of hers. She was 3A MVP in Sulpher for her pitching. She out performed every pitcher in the state this past year. Just tired of seeing Louisiana talent leave the state.
