The rule was very specific of the ramifications if the kid changed his mind and went elsewhere. That part is on the coaches. They knew the kid was flip flopping and still contacted him outside the rules. Don't blame them but they knew the rule and broke it
That said, I told people when the rule changed that it was a dangerous thing to allow kids to sign those things and use the lax contact rules. These days none if these kids are completely trustworthy so I wouldn't sign the thing. Its at no advantage to the school. All the power in the hands of the kids and that's dangerous.
Stupid rule that makes absolutely no sense. Because of the penalties they shouldn't allow the kids to sign but one but no they allow the kids to sign multiple. Just idiotic.
Now I'm waiting to see who else violated the rule because there has to be more. Many kids signed multiple agreements with multiple schools and since they can only enroll at one there has to be other violators. Let's see who else is honest and self reported.
For clarification because its confusing, does the 2 year ban on financial aid agreements, does that mean we can't have early enrollees for 2 years? Those kids don't sign LOIs usually. Only financial aid agreements. That would be the most costly penalty. The 21 eval days are harsh as it is.

If it is Womack, this calls for a little on-field justice on some future November evening.
Of course that can be a two way street... I'll bet some of our signees can tell stories about Bama coaches contacting them as well. Bama breaking the code!

I actually find this to be good in a way. We got Alabama scared shitless right now so they had to make sure this came out. What fricking pussies.

Can these sanctions be appealed?
Posted on 2/26/15 at 3:54 pm to JJ27
Well isn't this some bullshite...how in the hell does this fall on LSU? Ridiculous
Posted on 2/26/15 at 3:56 pm to jbgleason
This makes zero sense at all and is 150% assassin. How on God's green Earth is it LSU's fault for contacting the guy if he was committed there at the time? Total BS! Can they appeal this stupid arse sanction???? THey should if so.
Posted on 2/26/15 at 3:59 pm to jbgleason
What's with this bullshite? Every year LSU gets fricked over one way or another by the SEC or its' own guys.

All this over a 3 star Olineman too. Womack looks like he has down syndrome! We recruited 4 Olinemen who were all better than him anyway. In the end, they didnt even need him at all

Self reported so no one had to tell. We told on yourself as we should've.
These sanctions are from the conference so I'd appeal to the NCAA. Also would wait to see who else reported and the punishment they get. Gonna be interesting

When the Financial Aid agreement is signed, the rules for contacting a recruit are relaxed. If the recruit does not eventually enroll however, the school can be hit with sanctions. Stupid rule. Bama could have had this planned with the Womacks from the start.
When I first saw it, that is how I viewed it. They are one dirty arse program and never get caught for shite.

The gumps see how strong we've been killing it on the recruiting trail, and are even more terrified of the haul we'll bring in for 2016...bunch of bitches!

How many bans come from this thread?
Posted on 2/26/15 at 4:05 pm to lsufanva
This is just one more reason that wasn't even needed to have no allegiance to this conference at all.
I used to be an SEC guy, but I no longer travel to away SEC matchups, and I pull for OOC losses on all occasions outside of LSU.
And I realize this is an NCAA rule, but there's no way this happened without SEC approval and /or Alabama involvement.

Bullshite, what a POS family, too...

Its SEC sanctions not NCAA so while the rule is an NCAA one, the angst should be to the SEC at this point for the punishment.
I'm gonna wait and see who else gets hit with this before completely judging. There is no way we are the only school that broke this rule. I know kids signed multiple agreements with multiple schools. The schools wouldn't allow them if they didn't intend to use the full contact part of it. No use otherwise. Have to be others that broke the rule.
Money says this multiple agreement crap and this rule gets whacked after this.
