I was hoping we held on to him. He was a great athlete. Best of luck to him. Next man up.

Good now we don't need to see 50 threads talking about how good this guy looked running over 2 walk-on DBs against 2 scrub teams in garbage time.

Out of the SEC so that's at least some good news.

kid wanted some PT and is playing in front of the home crowd. I got no issue with DD. best of luck

Good luck to him ; he is returning home.

I'm sure the rest of the SEC was shaking in their boots for a player with no position.

Wish him the best. I was hoping he would stay, but I don't think he was going to get carries next year.

It’ll be interesting to see how many guys transfer out that are not from Louisiana.
It would bolster or erode the comment that you need fences around LA.
Eta
Only two transfers out from LA
The rest of our transfers out are from out of state.
They’d why Brian is looking for portal guys that are from Louisiana and are hopefully good.
Then he looks for very adept players from OSU and Syr

Was never going to play at lsu, but looking at how hard he runs, should have bulked & moved to LB a long time ago. They’ve known for a while he can’t play in coverage

It doesn't bolster or erode anything. Kelly's staff has heavy midwest/northeast ties. If that was eroding or bolstering anything they'd be recruiting other areas harder. They're not. Future classes are still recruiting midwest/northeast players hard as well as Louisiana of course. It's not changing anything.
This is more getting rid of Orgeron's taint off the roster who he can't evaluate positional players for shite. He recruited 2 top 100 S in a heavy position of need and neither of those guys are on the roster anymore. 1 of which doesn't even have a position to play set in stone yet.
BK immediately comes on staff and realizes this guy can't cover so you push him to another position like RB. Just goes to show how different the staffs were and how clueless Orgeron was.

I guess our HC coach doesn’t know what he’s looking at either? He said the exact same thing in his press conference after the games as well as the media, who also watch these guys up close and personal. They all saw what many of us saw and it has absolutely nothing to do with running over any scrubs.
You simply don’t know what you’re looking at if you didn’t see promise at RB for this dude. I’ve seen countless teams switch a WR or DB to the RB position and take over. LSU was whipped up on by some of them, this season and last. The threads were legit, because he had legit promise at RB. I wish he would have taken the switch and trained there all offseason.
The guy showed the best vision and the most explosiveness of any RB this year and we simply do NOT have that right now. Maybe one of the freshman show it but I haven’t seen that yet. Had he trained at that position and wanted to switch, he would have been our best option there next season. Our own coach said he wished he had seen this earlier because he would have switched him. The only guy on our team even close to the natural RB ability that DD had was Josh Williams when he hit the LOS but the difference in the two was Josh would lose that explosiveness once he got to the second level and Davis did not.
It doesn’t matter who we were playing or when. A hole is a hole and explosiveness is explosiveness. Ok maybe he doesn’t have that hole against better teams, he had the ability to hit the LOS and get 2-3 yards even if there was no hole. I don’t care that he ran someone over, let’s say that was an SEC safety, he would have still hit the safety with the same explosiveness and at the very least, moved the guy back a yard or two. But we don’t know how he would handle the SEC or handle the ball. That’s about it. As for as running north and south, he was our best RB period.

Makes room to replace his scholly with a LB.

Like a lot of others, I was hoping he would change his mind
