I don't think Hill ever signed a LOI so its why would rivals count him in that class?
Yeah, I don't know. I was hoping some of the recruiting guys on here would know that answer. Not that it really matter though...just curious.

On the other hand, we were credited for top 50 recruit DeAngelo Benton twice.

how the he'll does Texas and Ohio St. continue to real in top ranked cases and yet do nothing on the field. And don't get me started on ND
I suspect that the rankings are skewed to the fanbases that subscribe to the service.

No. He never signed a LOI, so he wasn't counted. Basically, LSU will get no credit on Rivals for Hilll.
We also never received credit for Jerrard Randall last year on Rivals. Rivals is on the decline.
I like scouts ranking system the best. They consider a full class of 25 and actually give credit for guys that sign like Randall and Hill.

What is the reason for not counting Hill and Randall at Rivals? It's not like they won't be major contributors to the football Tigers' program.

This argument always makes me laugh. OSU beat Arky on the field last year, who was a very VERY good SEC team.
OSU has been in 8 BCS games in 10 years. That's probably more than anyone else. They've won 5 of them and only lost to 2 national champions and a Texas team in 08 who probably should have gone to the title game instead. Also, OSU does not have top 5 classes every year like you seem to think. go take a look
Texas I think underachieves far more often. They won 10 games a year for an entire decade or so, but don't seem to be in BCS games often enough to justify them.
But both do enough to justify being top 10 every year
Edit: and Urban Meyer is a pretty good recruiter, as everyone should know

5 of that Top 10 are SEC teams

Texas wins a lot (1998-2009) but rarely could get over the OU hump. OU has dominated the B12 in it's 16/17 year existence

I trust our coaching staff to put together another outstanding class.
So what we didn't get Collins. Yeah, it SUCKS losing him but I mean, it's not like the staff didn't try. Kid wants to go the Alabama, he's going to go to Alabama and there is not a damn thing we can do about it. He just seems like he's dead set on getting out of LA and in that case, I don't care about him.
I think we are gonna round out this class very nicely.

Huge amount of HS talent and kids grow up wanting to play for the state school. If Louisiana was the size of Texas, Curly Hallman would have pulled in top five recruiting classes every year.

What would they have done if he had gone to another school other than LSU? Last year's class makes no sense.

LSU is once again back in the Top 10 overall signing classes
so the program is not collapsing?

Texas was in the BCS CG in 2009 and Ohio State was in the Sugar Bowl in 2010, how is that not doing anything on the field?
I'll give you Texas in 09 but the last 2 years not so much. OSU is a hog tusk away from being 0-11 in resent games verses SEC.

Obviously, you forgot that 3 of Curley's classes were ranked either #1 or in the top 3. Rankings mean nothing.
Posted on 1/22/12 at 8:34 pm to WacoTiger
I did forget about that. Kind of supressed anything Curley

I think I heard that they don't count him since he is not coming out of high school.
