This kid is from right here in Baton Rouge. Went to dunham high school. 6'2 215 Safety/DB. Unbelievably talented. I have watched him play a lot. Runs 4.5 40 maybe better. Can absolutely lay the wood. Plays with an extremely high motor. He signed with Northwestern. We will be hearing about him. check out this link. watch his video about half way down the page.

Best of luck to him. He's going to get a great education and play for a great coach.

Too strong of a word. If LSU did MISS out on him, so did Texas, Arky, Ole Miss, Miss St, Bama, Auburn, Tennessee, etc.

BTW, Greg, your son will get a great education at Northwestern.

BTW this is not Greg. I just know the kid pretty well. I absolutely agree he is going to a great school where he will get a great education. He will play for a great coach. IMO i think he is talented enough to get an offer from LSU.

Crowton's son played at dunham with Ellis. If he was LSU material, LSU would have offered him. Ellis is a good player but I don't know if a Hester he will be. Having watched him play about ten times, I like him and wish he would have come.

I know that crowton was really high on Collin. But i don't think he got a fair shot. I think he will have a great career at Northwestern.

Could someone tell me the rules about TOPS scholarships, and whether or not they count against athletic scholarship limitations for football?

I don't think they count against. I think when a kid qualifies for tops it is a huge plus cause it frees up scholarship money. I am not 100% sure though.
