Jalen.. Do people call him Ja for short? The last Ja that CMM coached was pretty good.

If anyone has anything negative to say about an LSU coach bringing in talent then Idk that you can call them a fan.

I love LSU basketball, and am very happy with the recruiting thus far (especially with a Cenac addition).

That being said, he needs to start winning big, like yesterday.

Also, Dale brought in a MONSTER CLASS or two. Even with Cenac, this class wouldn't be a top Dale class. People either forget or weren't around back then when he was reeling in Higgs, Rudy, Hi C, Leonard Mitchell, and Steffond Johnson, John Williams and Tito Horford, CJ, Shaq, Roberts, and then a few years later Livingston, Henderson and others.

There was a 15 year period when Dale had us in on and SIGNING elite recruits CONSTANTLY. There's no good reason LSU can't get back to that.

That's just splitting hairs though. It appears McMahon is getting the players. We need success with those players soon.

5'10" underwhelming.

Ya'll stop celebrating like we just got the #1 PG in the country.

Matt is a middle of the mall SEC calibar coach. Fans ain't coming out this year. You see where team is predicted to finish...meanwhile a school of 5,000 students is receiving votes in the Top 25 Coached by none other than Will Wade!!!!!!!

Yeah cause there’s never been a pg under 6 feet that was any good.
I’m not the biggest fan of McMahon but last year showed improvement as I expect this year will as well.
Recruiting is going well and if he lands Cenac it’ll make the class at least top ten , probably a little higher. I think the program is trending in the right direction.

"LSU History" is probably a bit of a stretch. Also, there's not a failsafe way to adequately quantify it because "rankings" are a relatively new metric. Dale Brown brought in some big time classes. In 1988 alone he signed Chris Jackson and Stanley Roberts. Both were 1st team Parade All Americans. He also signed Harold Boudreaux who was a 4th team Parade All American that year. In 1993 he signed Randy Livingston and Ronnie Henderson. Both were 1st Team AAs.

In the rankings age Wade's 2018 class was 4th with Reid (22), Williams (31), Smart (36), Days (70). Before that, Jones had a good 2013 class with Martin (11), Mickey (30), Quarterman (77), as well as the 2015 class with Simmons (1), Blakeney (14), Sampson (82)

McMahon has done a very solid job in recruiting in terms of player rankings. He's signed several top 100 players. However, he hasn't signed anyone in what would be considered the "elite" category (that hopefully will change with Cenac). Obviously you can never fully judge a class until you see them play. But if we are throwing out superlatives like "best recruiting class in LSU history" I'm not quite sure on projection alone this class, even if he signs Cenac, would be that. LSU has had a LOT of great players in its history.

Furthurmore if you aren't home running the portal you aren't going to be successful. Having a top 100 kid isn't a home run. If he can't get back in the tourney this year and get fans back in the PMAC he's toast, I don't care how good "next years class of incoming freshmen look on paper."

The SEC is a gauntlet and LSU is going to be near the bottom in terms of wins and losses unfortunately.

making a comparison to Tremont Waters before the guy ever steps foot on campus is downright laughable.

Don't be upset that McNeese has the best basketball team in the State of Louisiana. It's a bad look.

McNeese is playing a DII schedule, they would get skullfricked in the SEC, Wade was 1 and done come tournament time

Are you absolutely drunk before 1 p.m.?

McNeese goes to #2 ranked Alabama, goes to Ole Miss, hosts North Texas, opens the season at South Dakota State, and plays at UL-Lafayette before conference play begins. Where on planet earth do you see that McNeese plays a Division II schedule? Please please enlighten us. If McNeese gets skull-$$$$$ in the SEC then where does that leave LSU who in fact loss to an SLC team last season...........

Their conference schedule sucks donkey dick, it's much easier to play 1 tough game , when you are facing SUNO, Swaggart, and Delgado Intramural for a conference schedule
