I'm very OK with this. It's important that LSU open up a pipeline to the Cali JC's also for future recruits. Even if he never starts, he'll push others to step up. Sometimes you have to take a flyer on someone. Can someone say Linsanity???

Remember the last Cali JC kid we got? No thanks if that's going to be an issue.(Akiem Hicks) We're also right next to MS which has quite a few top JC programs that produce top players every year. Again this offer just tells me some of our guys slated for OG aren't good enough yet.

A 6'6" 340 OG with college experience and offers from UGA and UF is a take especially with 3 scholarships availabe for the 2012 signing class. He also has 3 years to play 2 so he doesn't have to play immediately.

As long as he can redshirt. I just don't see the need for a JUCO OL this upcoming year with what we have returning. Maybe he could sneak in in 2013 or 2014.

If he'd be on the 2 deep it would be well worth it.

At first I was like, "WTF, why do we need a JUCO OL?" Then I looked and saw we only have one healthy OG with legitimate game experience returning next year. If the past couple years are any indication, some of our OL are going to miss some games, and depth on the interior OL is surprisingly lacking.

One would think that Branch should be ready to contribute, but in reality he's still a complete unknown. Josh D may or may not be fully recovered, and honestly was not all that hot even with two good knees. Washington is coming off injury and also completely unproven. Collins is a future stud but also untested, and may not be suited for the interior. Williford is the only one we can expect to count on in 2012.

Really hurts to have lost and/or missed evals on guys like Hagans, Parsons, Spencer, Lowe and Ainsworth, who would have been in line to compete for starting spots right about now. In hindsight, we basically hit on 2 OG in 2 years (out of 7 signed) from 2008-09, the classes that would be juniors and seniors next year (and even that 2 includes the unknown Branch). That is not acceptable.

I think Kevin Mawae has some Pacific Islander in him.

Hawaiian ancestry.

I know, I know, Hawaii, Guam, US Virgin Islands, The Phillipines, Samoa, it's all the same, right?

If he is a good prospect I am all for it. Rbs are a dime a dozen when it comes to making or break ing a team. Ol and dline are the most crucial areas. Even more important than Qb at the college level. Show me a team with to many ol men and I will show you a winning team.

Hopefully he can move the ball. Maybe he'll be useful. I like the offer.

When the Samoans conquered the native Hawaiians, I bet THAT WAS brutal.
