Looks like LSU is not being too finicky.

That's reason enough for an offer!

Verne never backs down from a challenge. "Fa-na-eeka! Oh MY!"

This tells me that a couple of guys pegged for OG aren't up to snuff. With all the young talent we have on the OL I just can't see why we need a juco OL unless some of the young kids just aren't as good as thought. It would also cut into a an already small 2013 class. If Les wants him then I'm good with that but just not understanding the reasoning.

You do realize that he meant by taking another kid in 2012 thats one less scholly available for 2013 because of lack of probable to graduate or leave the program after next season. LSU will not sign a full class in 2013 becuase of this.

I always wanted LSU to offer a kid with one of these names.

Just to be clear... 2012 class we signed 22 players (TE Thomas will sign later?) and had 2 available that were supposedly going to deserving seniors?

Like the offer list...but WTF a 2012 JUCO OL? Will he be a junior, or sophomore? I can understand if he was an incoming sophomore, but we have no JUCO needs on the OL for next season. Makes no sense, we return 4/5 OL and add Dworacyzk back too.
I'd like this offer a lot more if he could play center, but Im not so sure I see a 6'6, 335 guy playing there

Exactly my problem understanding. We are stacked on the OL. Granted we are kind of young depth wise but they're all very talented kids that have to get their feet wet eventually. Again if Les wants him then there is likely a good reason. I guess we'll find out if we get him.

I'm just trying to figure out where this guy would ever start? Isn't the point of going out to get a JUCO guy to be a starter at a weaker spot? Williford is a junior next year, Collins a sophomore, Dworacyzk returns for final season. Washington will be a sophomore, and we just redshirted a group of freshmen. Why go after a JUCO OL unless he can play OC which IS an immediate need.

Perhaps LSU will have a lot of attrition on the Oline. We've been giving a lot of ships out every class to oline. Seems like we get 5 every year and not many are leaving...gotta happen eventually. Guys like Branch who haven't done much and been here forever it seems like...

Gotta think Branch will stick it out for 5th season...yeah he doesn't play except for mop up duty and has no chance to start next year but the only attrition guys on the OL could potentially be Washington who didn't play last season and maybe one of the freshmen that redshirted? Still, I see no reason to get a JUCO OL unless he was a center...we have so many bodies on the OL outside of center.
Right now we have 15 scholarship OL for next season...that's a ton.

15 OL @ nearly 300 lbs each.... We're talking 2.5 tons.

A 6'6" 340 OG with college experience and offers from UGA and UF is a take especially with 3 scholarships availabe for the 2012 signing class. He also has 3 years to play 2 so he doesn't have to play immediately.

Uga has the most OL need of the three schools, so I would imagine that's a sway for him.

this sounds like a good thing to me. miles looked at the tape of the georgia and bama game and said some of his ol guys (williford, maybe hurst) need to be upgraded as they got their arse kicked in both games. young guys not ready yet. josh d. and washington coming off injury.

Has LSU ever had a Samoan player before? I can't think of one.

Sounds good to me... And one thing you cant coach, size.. this guy is pretty huge!! Maybe the coaches figure they can work with him, polish him up a bit and he will compete.... You have to have these monsters in the SEC.
