that the first thing i told her to ask

update::: Sim's mom says as far as she knows Hootie is undecided, she vaguely knows Hootie's mom....she just knows what Cam has told her...so nothing earth shattering

Pretty sure they just want the fans to know that they were fighting until the end.

Lol, the majority of lsu fans don't follow recruiting like us. The coaches don't give a frick what the fans think.

I truly believe they shouldn't.

It's like watching a politician whose "principles" are based on polls. He just goes with the wind... and it's a big, swirling, poo filled wind. Kinda like this board gets sometimes.

Louisiana might be loaded with athletes but the last 2 5*safety have left the state if hootie does indeed leave. Lots of athletes but we are struggling with safety help it hurts more than people are putting on

Not saying its untrue because I don't know but if Hootie has signed papers then it would be a lot more public.
This is the LAST time I'm going to say this:
Hootie turned in paperwork to LSU!
Burton Burns claims they received the same. That is all.

But, but, but my brother heard something from a guy who stocked the can of Campbell's Chunky Soup bought by the janitor at the school down the street from the FedEx delivery guy who is related by marriage to a lady that goes to church with a man who once met a traveling preacher who read in a bathroom stall wall that Hootie and the Blowfish were getting back together...it has to be true...

Hootie +

How bout this...

Let's ask it this way:

Do you think Hootie becomes the consensus #1 Safety and #2 LA player by end of day Dec 9 (1 week after his announcement) on the pay sites?

If yes, then you think he's going to Bama.

That COULD be significant Cinci

Solid on he turned in paperwork to LSU or could it be smoke? (I ask because the way you wrote it seems without a doubt)

And I have to say this, and this is indeed kind of an a-hole comment by me. Paperwork has to be turned in for home and official visits. Maybe some misleading "understatements" here?

At least a HS transcript has to be given to the college visiting, and most compliance departments have their own forms for record keeping.

The Hopefull Tiger:
CLM handed Hootie and Moms the Financial Offer packet over breakfast. CLM is coming to pick it up with the required sigs Monday. They usually want a day or two to review.

I'm not understanding it either, lol, but he sent papers in to LSU. They're non-binding, I believe. Burton Burns, Alabama's RB Coach and NOLA Recruiter says they got the same. Really doesn't mean anything at this point.
Eta: Burns isn't Hootie's recruiter, Billy Napier is the one kicking our butt in Monroe.

Didn't Tony Brown turn in similar papers to a couple of schools?? I think it's more or less an approval process that they start with their final schools to speed up the process once they are ready to commit.

Thanks Cinci and Hollier... sounds about right.

Speaking of T. Brown, I'll be glad when Dec 3rd gets here. We should know about Quille and Hootie by then and can go back to gushing about him and LF again (among others).

Just to set the record straight about these financial forms. As of recently, the rules have been re-interpreted. They can now sign financial aid forms as soon as August 1st, instead of waiting til national signing day.

-This is not the same as a letter of intent.
-This doesn't legally bind the player to the school
-It DOES bind the school to providing a scholarship to said player
-If the player signs the financial aid papers, then "the college is no longer restricted by NCAA rules for “unlimited communication” with in-person contact, home visits and phone calls/texts."
-Players can sign papers for more than one school.

You'll notice this year, schools that have received these papers have acted like they are letters of intent, like when LSU tweeted out the welcome to Brandon Harris. (Obviously we know he's a tiger), just using it as an example.

TL;DR - Financial Aid papers bind the school to the player, but not the player to the school, it also relieves restrictions on player-school contact. Players can sign more than one school's papers, but schools who get said papers signed may miss out on using that spot to recruit someone else.
