Sounds like Olivia Greaves is not longer entertaining going to Florida. Has she ever shown any interest towards LSU?

She follows their instagram account. Given her history of injuries and the fact that she committed to Florida while with MH, it’s not surprising that this change was made. Just based on who she’s closest with on the National Team, I’m guessing she may want to stay in the SEC which means she’ll either end up at LSU with Aleah or at Auburn with Suni if she’s truly no longer interested in Florida. UCLA could also be an option for her given she’s now training partners with Jordan Chiles

I was actually surprised when she first committed to Florida. Greaves has always seemed like an OU or Bama kid to me. It’ll be interesting to see where she goes.

Apparently there was some bad blood between her and McCusker when the whole ordeal went down with Maggie Haney. Not surprised she wouldn’t want to be on the same team with her if she thinks it will just be awkward and a bunch of drama.

Yup and some of her really good friends are current LSU gymnasts and commits

Olivia would be a great pickup for anyone

Her form on bars and beam alone would be a huge upgrade for us (or at least from this year - I know she wouldn't come, likely, until 2022).

I know Florida really wants Addison Fatta and Skye Blakely. Maybe they are wanting to open up a spot for Fatta for 2023. Makes sense since she’s from Trinity’s old gym.

There’s been speculation since the Maggie Haney abuse came out that Olivia would not go to Florida because Riley is going there (their families had beef related to Haney). For similar reasons I doubt she’d go to Bama with Zoe Gravier now committed there. I could see her going to Oklahoma or LSU.

Keep in mind: if the routine construction isn’t smart, this won’t do us any good.

This is true, but from what I recall of greaves bars her form on her skills (bars ,at least) is great and she is good with her current dismount (I think FTDT, so Jay would be happy, its not a disaster nor is it particularly hard to stick). Would have to go back to her beam to see what's going on there, but I assume she would have what she needs, as long as we don't try to force any rotating leaps on her.

Well LSU has an open scholarship spot so it will be interesting to see what they do with it.

I know Sarah has another year of school before she officially graduates so her coming back depends on how her body is feeling, though she made it this year with only one score under 9.8 (SEC Champs on floor due to an out of bounds) and hit every single vault for us this year, so she may have some incentive to come back, given that it means another year of her school being paid for, now that she's earned a scholarship. As for Sami, her boyfriend is a grad assistant coach for the men's bball team so I would guess that at least until he's done, Sami would want to stick around and be close to him in BR. Also if I was Sami, I wouldn't want the last routine of my gymnastics career to be a fall, and would want to come back if given the option, to redeem myself

Is Reagan considering coming back? Would like to see her succeed on beam in her last year.

I doubt she would want to go through another year physically with gymnastics due to her back/scoliosis issues. You could see her just trying to hang on towards the end at LSU.

Adding onto this, i spoke to her and her mom after her sophomore year and they both said her scoliosis repair surgery was already scheduled for after her senior year. Even with covid allowing her to have the extra year, I know she’s not planning on taking it since it takes a while to get those appointments booked. Also having had scoliosis and the repair done myself, I know how brutal the recovery can be and prolonging it another year will only cause more issues for her, including the worsening of her condition and possible inflammation in the back

I think its probably best, injury wise, that most of the seniors move on - you could just tell this year was difficult on them. I think if we could have Sami on bars and Sarah on vault, that's what I would like to see from this year's seniors, especially given the (hopefully health) talent we have coming next year.

I would actually like Bridget to come back just for beam.

I would love to see Sami and Sarah back, if they can. Sarah has another year of school and has been relatively healthy minus the freak ankle injury her junior year. Sami ended in such a down note. Dean is so solid and she seems like one of those who peaks late but I don’t see how LSU finds 3 scholarships and I don’t see any of them paying to compete another year.

I do find it interesting that LSU has had no announcements of 5th year seniors. So many schools have and have had multiple girls coming back. It will be hard to compete with the incoming classes AND seniors coming back another year.

All that to say I think this is absurd. Why are these girls getting a 5th year when the last years seniors got nothing? Those are the ones who truly got shafted.

Imagine if Edney could have come back. And Ruby. Let’s say Edney was the only one, seeing as she is still as LSU. She could have competed vault and bars and been a huge help on each event. Another 10 vault and another 9.9 bar routine with a reliable dismount. She could have scaled back on training floor and beam if she wanted, being we had depth on those events (even though we didn’t have the consistency on beam like we hoped.). She could have stepped into the beam lineup at any time.

I read somewhere that the scholarships used for seniors who come back don’t count towards the original 12
