Livvy needs to be off floor unless Kiya needs rest. I know she is an upperclassman, but Drayton's floor is a 10 waiting to happen that floor routine can not be denied.
a floor of Ballard, KJ, Drayton, Finnegan, Bryant, Kiya is high caliber.
I agree and hope that Jay is not leaning toward his "Seniors first" tendency. He has embraced that since the "super seniors" several years ago. We all know the outcome of that.

Copying from the meet thread in case this group might have some thoughts on it.
Also, can we please please get this page pinned to the recruiting home page again? Is it time?
Ok - I was a bit delayed in watching, but have finished. Some overall thoughts - at least we got over 197, which is a miracle, but the judging was generally fair (though I think in most instances Kiya scores a 9.6-ish on that beam routine rather than a 9.375). However, beam is still the issue, they must figure it out, I’ll give some specific thoughts on that below;
Vault: a bit of a step back from last week, but is still early in the season to be sticking. Clearly missing chase in this lineup. I don’t agree with pulling Schoenherr- I think she has potential ( a much higher scoring potential than any full and most of the other 1.5s lying around), so I’d give it another week or two. I would however, be interested in taking Kiya out for the time being to give her some rest and experiment with one of those 1.5s in the sixth spot. I wish Aleah could do the 1.5; that landing step on a 1.5 would have been a 9.9 rather than a 9.8; but I understand it hurts her wrist. Maybe that’s another place to play with lineups
Bars: part of this was obviously inflated scoring over the span of the meet - but landing and overall execution was much improved. I think Tatum’s routine is too labored generally, but did score better than cowan’s last week, so I am ok with still playing around with this. I don’t think Aleah makes this lineup with her current dismount - which is fine, she is more valuable on the other three.
Beam: ahh the beam of it all. First - I am glad sierra hit, but that was one of the best routines she has done and it only scored a 9.775…they really have to find someone else (KJ, Coen, Schoenherr, Livvy) because her leap form is just not it. Also re: Jeffrey. I like her routine, but I think her quarter straddle is wonky/a deduction and if that standing front tuck isn’t necessary for her start value, they need to remove it - it’s a deduction trap with her technique of landing so deep. Kiya I think is still find her way and if we hadn’t been in the first rotation that would have scored about 2-3 tenths higher. Of course Haleigh and Aleah are amazing and Beard had a great routine after that fall. I think you put her and Konnor in next week and just see how it goes. But honestly, beam is what wins championships so Jay needs to exercise some influence over that line up
Floor; a great routine from Sierra - but again, I just think not top 6. It is criminal for Amari not to be in, but I am not as concerned here. Oklahoma also got about a good half tenth to tenth on everyone one of their athletes over us; Sierra would have sure been a 9.9 in that rotation given the scores they gave to OU.
Overall an improvement - not a keepable score especially with what the likes of lower tier sec teams are scoring, but if we figure out beam we’ll at least have a fighting chance. But…anyone who wants to beat OU is going to have to be absolutely perfect when it counts

Yes, a 197.150 was improvement even with the low beam scores. LSU fell to 8th in the standings this week with several SEC Teams ahead of us with 197+. Kentucky will be a challenge this weekend. They have some good 10 value vaults. They are steady on beam so I hope Jay has made some changes so the team will be ready for the challenge.

The Kentucky meet has been a disaster basically for the last four years; I truly hope we can beat them convincingly this year.

According to Alyona’s Snapchat story today, Konnor has switched her leap series and is now training a switch leap switch half combo. Most of the time we’ve objected strongly to this leap swiped because of all of the built in deductions that it usually incurs for our team but Konnor’s is Literally *chef’s kiss* PERFECT

Am I not seeing something everyone else is. Why do yall think sierra is so much better than livvy? I love sierras tumbling but her leaps are an automatic deduction every time and the judges really like livvy’s lines. My post season lineup would be livvy, then kj, amari, haleigh, kiya, and finish with Aleah. Aleah has the best floor of the lineup and scores best. Why is she 4th?
Also where is the pin chicken?

Honestly, the leap series they first gave her was doing her no service. She was known for pristine leaps in elite and somehow that combo was susceptible to lack of slipt deductions.
That being said, she does not need the hardest leap series and the hardest acro series in the same routine!!! Especially since we've been having so many issues on beam.

Sierra's leaps got so much better on floor throughout her time at LSU. If she keeps that leap combo, I don't see the judges taking much. Also, it's pretty original with the down to the knee thing.
Her tumbling is exponentionally greater than Dunne's and she can stick most of the time, especially the DLO. With Dunne, you always get that slide back on the landings and the double pike still has some form issues.
Now, if they change Sierra's routine to a 2-pass and insert that horrendous switch ring half like they did last post season, it's a whole 'nother story...
I agree on putting Aleah more towards the end on floor. Her tumbling and choreo is the best on the team, no doubt. At the sime time, the arabian seems a little hard to stick, so I feel more secure putting her in the end, so it does not break the momentum if she ends up missing the landing (which does not happen often, but it can happen). Honestly, I don't think they'd make that move though, the last 3 on floor are pretty solid overall.

This week's meet against Kentucky will be Aly Raisman's first-ever meet as an ESPN commentator. I'm also half expecting Konnor to be in the floor lineup this week after listening to the press conference. Looking forward to it tomorrow!

Bryce is in a boot (per Snapchat). Hope it’s precautionary.
Also, good to see Chase back.

Anybody have any further information on Brock? I don’t see Bryce as a super key piece to the lineups at this time, so it’s unfortunate she may have an injury, but don’t think it’s too detrimental to the team overall at this stage.
Re: the floor discussion. I think Amari should be in over Sierra and Livvy; between the two of them; the judges seem to favor livvy more even with her slide back on landings. I would be interested to see what happens if you reverse the order of them…but that is very unlikely to happen.

A Chase Brock has been spotted! So happy to see her. Looks like she's back training too.

Since it’s SECN can we expect exhibitions today?
Posted on 1/19/24 at 5:18 pm to Twz
Unfortunately not. Only on SEC+ is where they can do exhibition routines.
Posted on 1/19/24 at 6:15 pm to tlricks04
Thanks. These Florida floor scores are way too high surprise surprise

Someone at the meet just said that it looks like Chase will be on vault. So happy if that is the case.
Posted on 1/19/24 at 7:42 pm to tlricks04
No Jeffrey on beam but Konnor is in. Konnor on floor for Livvy. Chase on vault.
