Any thoughts about Florida taking Selena - my sense is with Konnor being out and then picking her up, they edge us out in the talent department next year. However, I wonder if the Selena thing could backfire. If it really is an attitude thing as has been suggested by the stories surrounding it. There are other “A-list” athletes on that team that Selena will likely have to take a backseat too (eg Leighanne and Kayla). Not that she won’t do all around, but she won’t be THE star of that team.

Florida’s problem has never been talent…it’s the coaching. Talent wise she fits in but if what happened at UCLA is to believed, not sure she’s a culture fit.

That seems like a whole lot of egos to manage. I thought she wanted to win a championship anyway. lol Next year will be very interesting!
I have many thoughts on her decision to transfer to Florida which can be summarized in 3 points:
1. If everything I’ve seen, heard and read about her dismissal are true, good luck to Florida dealing with her and I’m glad she’s not our issue.
2. I feel bad for Jenny and she’s about to get walked all over by Selena (per statement #1)
3. I especially feel bad for Sav especially after that program handled her transferring to LSU and spoke to/about her

Interesting, how did they handle her transferring? I got the feeling things ended bad but never saw anything.

No specific details were given but on episode 4 of this season of The Climb (Recipe) there’s a clip of a conversation Sav had with one of her former Gator teammates and best friends, basically insinuating that they were less than kind and supportive of her decision to a) leave Florida for her 6th year and b) transfer to LSU and be a better and genuinely happier version of herself there at that. There’s also the whole Nya Reed dismissal from the team situation of it all that is gonna cause issues for Selena and get her kicked off too

Yes saw that and saw Kara started following UGA and Ady Wahl a month or so ago. I thought if she went SEC she’d do Missouri where she’s from.

A mom in the Facebook groups who is well connected to pac 12 gym programs said Selena tried to transfer to LSU last year and LSU said no.
Jay stopped recruiting her late in the hs process. I suspect he had legit reasons to do so
LSU will be fine even with the loss of Konnor. Our youngsters will have the chance to compete a lot year 1. Chio has the potential to be just as impactful as Bryant one day, that’s how talented she is. And as we polish up routines for Lincoln and Zoe, the sky is the limit. Drayton will make the sophomore jump and I suspect Coen will raise some eyebrows with another full offseason

I really wanted Lily to transfer and come to lsu. Not too upset about Selena.
On the sav thing she’s been hanging out at the hangout festival with her besties, aka the lsu girls. I always found it a little odd that the Florida girls never commentated on social. Thought maybe because she was older than them.
On Selena it must not be all kosher because she has unfollowed some girls, chae and Emma. And I know some of our girls are pretty close to those 2 so maybe they got some insight into what really happened.

I suspect that Zoe will probably need surgery soon.

How come? For back or arm?
Btw Lexi and Kaliya are rotating together. Nationals is Friday night and Sunday night. People said Kaliya looked very good in podium training and is bringing some upgrades!

Kaliya injured her ankle during podium training on Thursday. She tried to compete tonight but decided to scratch floor and vault after struggling on bars and beam. I expect her to petition to qualify for the Olympic Trials; however, nothing is guaranteed.

Really sad now all our elites are getting injured between Konnor, Zoe and now Kaliya. Hope Kaliya heals up

She mentioned in a Live about a week after she announced her retirement from Elite that her shoulder was not healing as it should. Someone commented about her back and she said “it’s getting better.” Makes me think if her shoulder is not healing properly, it may need a little clean up.

If Skye Blakely competes as well on Sunday as she did on Friday she will be a top three at Championships. Social Media has counted her out to be on the Olympic Team due to inconsistency in performance. IMO I think she has skills that are unique compared to Kayla and Wong. She may be the surprise on the team if she continues with consistency.
I hope Hezley Rivera will keep an open mind in her recruitment and not fall hook ,line and sinker for Florida. She and Konnor were good friends when both were at WOGA. Maybe Konnor will have some influence in her decision.
Florida will be a force this season with Skye, Selena, Kayla, Anya, Wong and several more who score well. Jay, coaches and gymnasts have a challenge ahead and will hopeful rise to the call. Our team will miss Konnor's beautiful routines.

Has Kiya announced anything yet? Or Livvy?
Posted on 6/2/24 at 12:32 am to TigerFan112
I thought it was odd Livvy didn’t go to graduation or show any pictures in cap and gown. Neither did Chase and now we know Chase will be coming back.

There hasn't been a farewell/or coming back post from Kiya or Livvy. They may be finishing up courses this summer to graduate and then will make their announcements.
Kaliya has withdrawn from Championships and will petition to Olympic Trials due to her sore ankle.

Skye never really impressed me before. Granted, her front tumbling on beam is really awesome and a huge point getter, but again, she never hit it, so what's the point. But... she's on fire right now and hitting everything - and who knew she had a Cheng?? Before this year, she was one of those recruits that I wish we had, but I wasn't sore went somewhere else. But now... It hurts she's going to Florida. I think she makes the team this year and might even knock Jade out. Trials is going to be crazy in a good way!!

No Kiya sixth year. I’m sad.
Posted on 6/4/24 at 12:45 pm to tlricks04
I’m sad but she went out healthy and a national champion so it was a good ending.
With Konnor/Sav/Kiya routines to be replaced, we have 10 routines we will have to fill. This def puts Chio in the all around year 1 and lots of routines to come from our freshmen and sophomore classes
