Sierra’s not necessarily leadoff for her high scoring as for her constant steadiness. You can almost always count on her to stay on the beam. If we had a better 2 and Aleah from last year this beam lineup could be lights out like floor.

I really wish Jay(Gnat?) would put Sav in the 2nd spot for sec’s. She is so polished and seems to have her confidence back in full force. Doing so at sec’s is a lot less crucial than nationals, and if it works out for the best, then give her the spot from here on out.

I think Dunne’s routine was much better than Sav’s. I’d be in favor of her for the two spot on beam.

I agree, the judges liked Liv's lines and performance. They gave her a 9.975. Sav's main part of her routine was AWESOME but she needs to stick the dismount and so does Sierra. LSU will need those extra tenths to stay relevant on beam and bars in the post season.
Just finished watching the Oklahoma/Alabama meet. Ok stayed true to their brand. They finished with a 198.775.
I was impressed with Alabama on bars and beam. They stuck their dismounts on every routine on those two events. They finished with a 198.025 on the road.

How many times have we heard that by the second half of the season (or by post season for sure) we should have six 10.0 vaults? At least as long as I’ve been following LSU gym. I’ll never put any stock in what they put out there as far as expectations.

I don’t know or see all the things that go into a score, but Olivia does have a very pretty routine. She has graceful moves, pretty lines and toe points. I wish she had had more chances in the beam lineup.

Fulls overall have not been scoring well all season. Many have been going 9.875 for a stick. That’s what worries me. Judges seem to be rewarding the more difficult vaults this year.

I'd have to partially disagree on that. Maybe that has been the case with KJ for most of this season. But you do have very mid fulls getting 9.9 plus at some random places across the nation. Also, you have pretty ones being rewarded properly (see Emily Lee at UCLA).
I always say (and stand by it) that I don't think starting with KJ's full will be an issue this post-season. Few teams start with a 1.5 and that does not always translate into stellar scores (see Audrey Davis and Faith Torrez at OU scoring low 9.8s almost every week in those 1-2 spots). For me, the main concern when it comes to vault is not finding landings on those 1.5s and not having Chase ready as an option if one of them is off on a given day.
As far as Aleah breaking into the bars lineup, I'd only agree with that if she somehow find those landings at practice. Otherwise, we need to stick (no pun intended) with what's safe there. I'd rather have, let's say, a Tori routine with a Tori dismount than an Aleah routine with an Aleah dismount, unless the latter is lights out at practice that particular week. Anyway, I think Jeffrey, Cowan, Kiya, Konnor, Sav and Bryant is a strong lineup for post-season.
Beam will be beaming. Not experimenting with Beard enough at the right times, not experimenting with Liv at all, keeping AJ's routine the way it is, are all choices. Poor ones I'd say.

LSU should have pushed way harder than they have to give both reps and opportunities but given it’s so late in the season you likely won’t see any of those routines on post season. Had they gotten in the lineups the last few weeks one could have made it but feels too little too late…

It feels like a crime that after all these years Liv has not been able to crack the beam lineup considering how average its been. Really think she has been punished for making NIL her number one priority and gym number 2.

I remember before Dunne got to LSU I always liked her beam at JO's, it was nice clean, good lines. Honestly should be a very quality beam routine every week unless her consistency in practice is just that horrible because it never made sense to me why she never got opportunities on beam when we had a Clear need.

Current regionals projections have us with Kentucky, Auburn and Arkansas at Arkansas. Not ideal considering Arkansas home scoring but I realized with us being a 2 or 3 seed the regionals we’d be most likely go to are the two three seeds who are hosting (Michigan or Arkansas) which is dangerous for upset potential. Still, I’d rather LSU go against Michigan than 198 Arkansas.

Have they done the tailgate for sec’s before, and if so, has anyone been to it? Thoughts on it?

I may get hate for this but here are my thoughts about SEC/post-season lineups:
VAULT: As much as I love KJ and her full, if there was ever a time for Jay to see how well 6 10.0 vaults score in a post-season lineup, it's this weekend. If Chase trains well and is landing well this week, I feel like it is worth the risk to have her lead off the vault lineup with the 1.5 and see how our lineup scores. She has 2 years worth of post-season vaulting experience and would more than likely give us at least a decent score (9.85 or better) should anyone else make a mistake. If she isn't landing well this week though, then we lead off with KJ.
BARS: If Jay plans to use Aleah at all on this event this post-season now that her wrist is better, she needs more numbers and for me, that would mean her leading off on bars instead of Jeff (due to her dismount landing position issues) or instead of Ashley (to counter Jeff's score and set the back half of the lineup up for big scores). Based on training footage I have seen posted to Alyona's Snapchat story week after week (as well as meet warmups), Aleah has landed and stuck her dismount more times than not. If we want her to keep sticking it consistently, she needs more numbers on the hard surface rather than the softer surface to get it where it needs to be for Nationals.
BEAM: I wholeheartedly agree that we need to keep Sierra first because of her consistency and her hit ability (plus it gives us a safe score just in case one of our back 4 just happens to be off that day on beam as she is more likely to hit than not so far this season) but when it comes to the second spot, I'd rather Sav compete over Livvy if we're talking about taking Jeff out. Sav has time after time come up clutch for her team (both as a Tiger and a Gator) and has more experience competing on that event both during the regular season and the post-season as she has been in an SEC beam lineup for the Gators once before and delivered a 9.8 for them, though she is much more confident and polished in her gymnastics now vs 2021. If we were to replace Jeff with anyone, I'd pick experience and slightly less polished form over slightly more polished form that has a greater potential not to hit (Sav has never missed a beam routine in her entire career).
FLOOR: Leave as is (as is meaning the lineup we had vs. Florida which has our highest scoring potential and the highest scoring potential of any NCAA team)

Chio scored a 10 on bars at her state meet

Because of the new quad meet rotation order, it really doesn’t matter anymore

Any idea why Alexis didn’t do podium training? Is she injured?

That is concerning that she would not train on the podium for the championship. We will have to wait to see if she is in the bar and beam lineup tonight.
