UCLA will be a factor when you consider "four on the floor". One of the top four SEC Teams will probably loose out for the final four. I would be surprised
if they allow all SEC teams to dominate. The fix will most likely be done. LSU needs to work on sticks. That would have made a difference from 3rd to 1st last night. Beam, bars, and vault lost tenths for LSU.

The Baton Rouge Regional rotation order. The coaches were given the choice of what event they will begin on. Jay usually chooses bars but ending on floor should be a strong closer for LSU. Let's hope LSU will get a few sticks on vault with it being the first event.

That is surprising! I would have thought he would always prefer starting on vault. Do you think he chose our order for SEC’s? We need to end on floor!

Yes and no. The coaches do get to pick their rotation order for SEC’s but they go in seed order so obviously OU being the number one seed chose to start on vault first which left us to chose second and pick the next best most favorable starting order which is bars first

If that is in fact our rotation order for semis, the girls can mentally just treat it like another home meet. I believe that also means we will start on floor and end end on beam in the finals

This was listed on lsusports.net. The rotation order may change as it has in past regional finals.

Competition Rotation
Beginning with the 2026 championship season, all teams will select their competition rotation order based on their National Qualifying Score (NQS) rankings. "The highest-ranked team in each session will have the first opportunity to select its starting event." The remaining teams will select in descending order of NQS until all four teams have made their selections.

The competition will continue to follow Olympic order (vault, uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise). Once all teams have selected their starting events, the NCAA will integrate individual event specialists (IES) and all-around (AA) competitors into the rotation and distribute the official competition rotation for each session.

It's a shame Madison wasn't named All SEC. She was so good on bars. Maybe she will move toward the last three of the lineup so her score will go higher than the 9.90 next season.

Unfortunately, Mustari was just not consistent in practice. It is building- and she's getting more and more consistent- and if she's not consistent in practice, regardless if she shows up on competition day- she won't be in lineups. I imagine next year she will see the end of that lineup easily- as she is absolutely beautiful on bars and beam.

Nina same thing- she was incredibly consistent on floor- but has not proven to be *as* consistent on bars and beam. She will see her time.

LSU had very few "stuck dismounts" on vault, bars and beam. That will need to improve for Ft Worth. It looks like Georgia is peaking and could be an upset for someone on our side of the bracket. Maybe Konnor will be able to compete beam. We really need her on this event and bars but bars are most likely out unless she recovers quickly.

I think Haley stepped in great for bars. I wish Zoe could step in for beam but if not maybe Emily instead of Madi. Most concerned with vault. Your only option there is really Nina or Madi. Not sure who you go with. I guess whoever is better in touch warmups.

On another note Fla also don’t stick landings and definitely did not deserve that 198 score. If we could just barely make it out of the elite eight that would be great. Would not want us to be outstanding in elite 8 and totally flop on final 4 which has happened a few times. Overall I’m super proud of where this team is and considering we are only losing 3-4 routines this year next year is looking very promising!

I agree that they need to be their best for the Final Four. All the awards are determined in the the semi if it continues as years past. Chio, Lincoln and anyone else that are possibilities for the event and all around awards will need to be dialed in at the semi final.

I’m sure the girls would tell you they care more about a championship than individual awards. Also if we’re in the earlier session that doesn’t bode well for individual awards, which of course is bs

They all compete with a team mindset but several gymnasts are exceptional competitors. Individual honors that are earned are always a plus for LSU.

Can we just do exactly what we did in round two with a 198.3? I will take that

Just doing a quick search and I'm not seeing anything other than people quoting Jay from after the meet. He didn't think it was structural which is good but nothing on whether she will be good to go or not.
