Dang...maybe a diamond in the rough?

Juco 3 star

Is he explosive?

What is going on with DL at LSU...

We've just not been dominant in a long time

Literally some of the greatest players in NCAA history are from junior college.

And also, Washington is a D1 transfer from Georgia, so not your typical JUCO guy.

Feels like the hit rate on JUCO defensive lineman is way higher than other positions

They can generally step in immediately and are more physically mature.

This goes way farther with defensive linemen than pretty much any other position. Even more than offensive linemen.

You hope to get more out of them than just being a warm body, but the floor is generally higher.

Might not even be a maturity thing. Guys transfer for all kinds of reasons. And honestly going to juco instead of the portal shows a level of maturity and self awareness.

It was a maturity and entitlement issue at UGA. I’m sure a year of JUCO has straightened that out

Zach Mettenberger [also UGA then JUCO] panned out well for the Tigers.
