“Usually means you’re not in it”

Per Culotta on OTB. Is this true?

I mean he tweeted it. It’s possible Bama didn’t know he was committing on Saturday either.

If we miss on Sage, it will be the beginning of a very disappointing 3 months in recruiting.

We just had the perfect season and everyone knows recruiting picks up the following season. For whatever reason the targeted 5 stars are not coming our way. Sage is just one player, but the likely domino effect is doomsday. Dont be surprised when we dont get any of BTJ, Maason Smith, TL or Foreman.

Yet the Bama site was the first to drop the news of him committing and said they are feeling extremely confident and our coaches went into overdrive mode trying to get back in talking with Sage to sway him.

Tells you all you need to know. If he was decided on choosing us Saturday when he made the announcement, Bama On Line wouldnt have dropped the scoop first and say they are confident he picks them, meanwhile LSU sites say it took our coaches by surprise and are furiously talking to Sage now.

If this happens, someone has to get fired.

More like "When" not "If". The writing is on the wall, might as well be written in permanent ink. Sage is gone.

It's one recruit and not the end of the world, but it's certainly a big blow and a less than promising sign of things to come.

Highly doubtful since he said "The writing is on the wall,"

Common sense?

LSU didn't know Sage was committing. Shea has CB'd Sage to Bama. When has Shea ever CB'd a Louisiana kid to Bama right before he commits, and been wrong about that?

It isn't ever in his interest to do so. He makes money based on subscribers. Irrational as it may be - he gets more subscribers when LSU recruiting is doing good. And what LSU fans get most upset about, and thus more likely to give up on following recruiting out of frustration, is highly ranked Louisiana kids who go to Bama over LSU.

So he is never going to put in a CB for a stud Louisiana kid to Bama until he has to - and he isn't going to miss those predictions when he does.

Saban knows after a championship season recruiting picks up. Don’t be surprised by this. Saban is one of the best he is willing to go all in money wise to stop any momentum LSU has from their championship season. This is why he is willing to break the bank for Sage, Brian, and most probably Masson also.
