f you think Kansas is gonna fire Bill Self over some kind of "threat" from the WEAK ASSED NCAA, just.......WOW!!!
Never said they are. Kansas will not fire Self.

. Also, why isn't it fair to compare the Wade and Self situations? Is it because he has coached longer and won more than Wade? So if you win a lot, it's ok to cheat???
If you can't comprehend why a school would stick its neck out for Self who has 2 national championships, 4 final fours, 19 conference championships, and has made the tournament 24 straight seasons and not a coach that is in his 5th year of coaching at a major program (especially when that school's prized program is at stake) then I can't help you dude. But continue your year and a half melt and in the meantime I'm going to continue pulling for LSU no matter who the coach is in every sport, even your "tallest midget" sports

Last years team, roster wise, is a middle of the pack SEC roster. No way they are a 2 win SEC team.
They didn’t have a point guard. It was 4 on 5 the entire season.

So you confirm it's ok to stand by a cheating coach-if he wins enough and for long enough. Roger that.
My (and other LSU fans) year and a half "melt" is a result of realizing that we had a guy here who by all accounts LOVED coaching at LSU, and was gonna have us in the tournament 95% of the time, with a few deep runs mixed in. Basically all an LSU basketball fan can hope for, because we aren't a blue blood.
I'm pulling for McMahon too. The difference is, you (and others) seem to be HAPPY he's here instead of Wade, which is absolute motherflucking LUNACY.
The bottom line is, our AD flucked up a winning men's basketball situation, for any number of reasons.
My belief is that he served Wade's head on a platter to Emmert to give the appearance he was "cleaning up" the cesspool of men's basketball recruiting. After years of HORRIBLE performance as head of the NCAA.
I typed the above paragraph knowing full well Emmert is probably the man most responsible for LSU's golden era in football. He was much better as our president then he was as the failed president of the NCAA.

You gonna keep crying over spilled milk man? We have all had this conversation multiple times. It's not gonna bring Wade back. The actual LUNACY is insinuating that people are happy mcmahon did a shite job last year. No one thinks that. I think all rational minds (a rarity on this site) agree that we would rather have Wade...but we don't and it fricking sucks. But constantly rehashing this argument accomplishes nothing

I'm sick and tired about this Wade vs. McMahon argument. This is a transfer portal thread on the lsu recruitment board.
Here's a topic. When will we know if Cook is eligible to play for lsu this season? If he isn't eligible, do we have any alternative in the late transfer portal or recruitment scene? Discuss!

According to the ncaa, the turn around time for a decision on waivers is around 21 days. Assuming that that hasn't changed due to the large amounts of waivers needed this off-season, I feel as though it may be safe to assume he got one and it hasn't been reported.

The only options as far as transfers go would be a grad transfer from somewhere but it's getting so late in the off-season I don't see that as much of an option. Flipping a commit at this point would be an option but would also be extremely difficult.

He's been included in all the summer workouts/practices. Seems like they already know he's eligible, or at the very least extremely confident that he will be eligible

Yes he's been involved in all workouts. Has also been included in a few of the videos that the basketball social media has put out

I haven’t seen those videos of off season workouts. It would be cool to post those.

Seems to me this program is in an "us against the world" persona. Not much coming out for public consumption. Cannot wait for the season opener. Glad I have a ticket to see the product. Until then I will just wait with patience and hope

Honest assessment of the Tigers' roster strengths, weaknesses and any comparisons to the '22 team too please.

The only stat to lead me to any opinion is this team has 5 returning vs 3 last year. I need to see how they gel. I expect ward, baker, fountain, cook, Wilkinson, chest, Hannibal, wright to be the glue.

My initial thoughts without seeing a single second of these guys playing together:
1. We should expect to see improved shooting from outside the arc. We were objectively bad from three point range last year, ranking #251 in 3pt %, #155 in 3pt attempted, and #191 in 3pt made. That statistic was much worse when KJ was not on the court. The offense was simply not a threat from 3, which makes it very hard to win in the SEC with the height that most teams have down low. Which leads to my second point
2. Rebounding and defense at the guard position may be an issue. This was said pretty early on, but our guards are very small. Wright can play the guard position and is listed at 6' 6", but Hannibal, Cook, Williams, and Stewart are all under 6' 3". Will put a lot of pressure on players like Baker, Fountain, Reed, and Collins to clean up a lot of boards.
As far as comparisons to the '22 team, I think you will see this team run offense at a much faster pace. Last year, McMahon would try to slow the game down as much as possible. For anyone that watched Mcmahon's teams at Murray state, this was not his MO. He knew the teams weakness on the offensive side of the ball and would try to slow the game down to get into a low scoring battle. The issue was that the defense would crumble most games. McMahon wants to run a high pace motion offense, and hopefully you will see more of that this year. I'm not even going to attempt to guess as to what the record will be. I'm just going to remain cautiously optimistic and look forward to watching some basketball

Many thanks! Hoping we have enough athleticism and quality depth to be consistently competitive in the SEC. An up tempo, high octane offensive approach along with decent defense would go a long way to rebuild program momentum and fan support.
